SERVICE:
This is a temporary deviation from SPJ 1001328, allowing certified technicians to open the high-voltage
battery lid and replace the HLCM in workshops.
Contact technical support via a Nebula report to get technical prior approval.
Ensure the technician has the correct Polestar 3 training and certifications, and all required tools are
available.
The following special tools are needed:
9513157 and 9513156 to lower the high-voltage battery from the vehicle.

You will also require the special tools listed below which are also included in the VIDA repair
instructions:

Note: To remove the battery lid screws, an EP8 socket is required.
Note: The lid sealing material will be delivered in 90 meters length and can be used for more than one
vehicle.
Remove the lid in a well-ventilated area. Wear a breathing mask during the removal of the battery lid
and after the lid has been removed. There will be an electrical smell which dissipates in a short time.
Please see the attached videos (TJ-37143_1.mp4) and (TJ-37143_2.mp4) for help with removing two of
the high-voltage connectors.
After the HLCM has been replaced and before the lid is reinstalled, it is important to reuse the three
soft dampers shown in the picture (TJ 37143_1.pdf). Move the soft damper from the replaced HLCM to
the new one according to the picture.
If needed, use double-sided tape to fasten the soft damper.
Note: Be very careful not to damage the soft dampers.
*Note: Do not scrap the four springs according to VIDA. They should be reused since they’re not
included with the new HLCM.
*Note: Avoid getting coolant inside the battery when the coolant hoses are released from the HLCM.
Have absorbents or paper to collect any coolant.
*Note: Unclip the CVTN before removing the HLCM pipe so there is no risk of getting coolant in the
CVTN.
*Note: There are no threads on new HLCMs. Technicians will need to make their own threads with the
fasting screws.
*Note: It is best to have four people helping when refitting the battery lid to avoid sealing issues (one
on each side).
