Purpose for Service Bulletin
This bulletin informs that this procedure should be followed
when troubleshooting or updating Telematic Control Unit (TCU)
software when version 4.0.6 or earlier is installed in the module.
This procedure improves the likelihood of gaining and
maintaining TCU connectivity, and reduces the need to replace
the module.

Informational Purposes Only

After update shows successful installation, navigate to the
System Information and verify that TCU shows software
version is 4.0.7 or higher.

NOTE
If after the Digital Technician II (DT II) indicated the update
was successful, but System Information still displays a
version 4.0.6 or earlier, attempt software update again.
Attempt update up to three additional times if necessary.
If unsuccessful after three reattempts, replace the TCU.

Navigate to Vehicle Setup menu.

Select Module Replace and select TCU.

Vehicles Affected

If software version is 4.0.6 or earlier, select module
and follow on screen instructions to update the TCU
software.

Follow onscreen instructions for performing Module
Replace procedure for the TCU.

If Module Replace procedure is successful:
a.

The TCU update is complete and TCU will function
normally.

b.

If Module Replace procedure fails, replace the TCU.

NOTE
Follow normal warranty procedures for reimbursement.

1.

Remove 40 amp main fuse and wait 5 minutes.

Submit a warranty claim per Table 3.

2.

Reinstall 40 amp main fuse.

3.

Place vehicle in Accessory Mode.

4.

Connect special tool to vehicle.
