BD Laser Max Keyonline Via PC (USB Memory Stick) Update Instruction
USB Memory stick requirements: 2-4 GB flash/thumb drive. Drive must be free of information
prior to performing the update.
1. From the main menu select:
a. Setup
b. Updates
c. Keyonline via pc
i. Do you want to update the software?
1. Select “Yes”.
ii. Please insert the USB memory stick in to the console and press “OK”.
1. The BD Laser Max will then transfer a “.csk” file to the USB memory
stick.
iii. Once the file transfer is complete the machine will display “Please remove
the USB memory stick, download the update from Keyonline website on your
personal computer and save it on the USB memory stick”
1. Select “OK” and remove the USB memory stick from the console.
2. Insert USB memory stick in to desktop/laptop.
3. Visit http://bdlaser.mscdirect.com/
4. Double click “choose file”.
5. Search and select the “.csk” file downloaded from the BD Laser Max and select “open”.
6. Click “request update”
a. A dialogue box with the message “This action may require some time. Please wait”
will appear. Select “OK”.
7. The update package will then be created.
a. Once the package creation is completed select
i. For Windows users: Select “SAVE” and then “SAVE AS” under the drive that
is associated with your USB drive.
ii. For Chrome users: Select the “Show in folder” option, then pull to transfer the
file to the USB drive.
8. Once the download/transfer is complete, safely eject the USB memory stick from the
desktop/laptop.
9. Return to the BD Laser Max which displays the message “Please insert the USB memory
stick containing the update”.
a. Insert the USB memory stick and select “OK”.
10. The BD Laser Max will then display the message “Do you want to update the software?”
a. Select “yes”.
b. Please note: The update process may take some time.
11. Once the update file transfer is complete the machine will display “Software update successfully installed”. Select “OK” then remove the USB memory stick and save for future use.

(The LSID Holder must fill out this form, after personally looking at the photo I.D., the registration and the VIN plate on the Vehicle.
These forms are to be kept for 2 years in a secured location as per the NASTF positive I.D. Policy. The NASTF Director of
Operations will randomly audit these forms to ensure compliance with positive I.D policy. Failure to produce D-1 Forms when
requested will result in LSID registry suspension and possible termination.)
