SITUATION
When driving over a rough road surface (e.g., cobblestone or similar surfaces), a rattling noise may be
heard from the rear axle. See attached video V33 01 24, raise your speaker volume.

CAUSE
Resonance increases in the transmission path through the rear spring strut/spring pad and guide support.

CORRECTION
Replace the rear suspension spring pads and guide supports on the left and right.

PROCEDURE
Replace the upper spring pad and guide support on the left and right rear spring strut as per REP 33 53 000.
NOTE: The complete suspension strut does not need to be replaced.
