This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after April 01, 2023 (MDH
0401XX) and on or before July 01, 2024 (MDH 0701XX).

MARKET APPLICABILITY:

CUSTOMER
SYMPTOM:

Customers may experience one or more of the following:
● Foggy appearance in body side tail lamp (M6 & H6).
● Foggy appearance in exterior lamp bar (H6).

CAUSE:

(M6 & H6): Poor sealing in exterior lamp bar.
(H6): Usage of high concentrated windshield washer fluid causing issue.

This Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) has also been released as a Rapid Service Update (RSU) 24-116,
date of issue August 12, 2024. All applicable RSU VINs have been loaded. To verify this RSU service
action is applicable to the vehicle, use VIP or perform a VIN search in DealerCONNECT/Service Library.
All repairs are reimbursable within the provisions of warranty.

DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer describes the symptom/condition above, perform the repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Wash vehicle and cover body side tail lamp or exterior lamp bar.
2. Wipe the tailgate portion.
3. Check for water entry and condensation inside the body side tail lamp and the exterior lamp bar Fig. 1.

4. Is there water entry or condensation present within the body side tail lamp or exterior lamp bar?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 5.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 12.

5. Inspect the body side tail lamp or exterior lamp bar for external damage such as a crack or opening Fig. 2.

6. Is external damage present on the body side tail lamp or exterior lamp bar?
● YES>>> Not covered under warranty.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 7.
7. Take vehicle outside in an open environment.
8. Start vehicle, keep all lamps on and keep vehicle in idle for 30 Minutes.
9. After 30 minutes of running, inspect the level of condensation in tail lamps and exterior lamp bar Fig. 1.
10. Has the condensation/fogging begun to clear after 30 minutes of running?
● YES>>> Proceed to Step 12.
● NO>>> Proceed to Step 11.
11. For M6 and H6: Replace the body side tail lamp. Refer to the detailed service procedures listed in
DealerCONNECT Service Library under: 08 - Electrical / 8L - Lamps and Lighting / Lamps/Lighting Exterior / Lamp, Tail Stop Turn / Removal and Installation.
For H6: Replace the exterior lamp bar. Refer to the detailed service procedures listed in DealerCONNECT
Service Library under: 23 - Body / Decklid/Hatch/Liftgate/Tailgate/Swing Gate / Lamp Bar, Exterior /
Removal and Installation.
12. Is there fouling and gap between the body side and inner side tail lamp (M6) or between the body side tail
lamp and the exterior lamp bar for (H6) Fig. 3 and Fig. 4?
● YES>>> Perform an alignment and adjust gap. Refer to the detailed service procedures listed in
DealerCONNECT Service Library under: 08 - Electrical / 8L - Lamps and Lighting / Lamps/Lighting Exterior / Lamp, Tail Stop Turn / Removal and Installation.
● NO>>> This bulletin has been completed, use Inspect LOP (08-50-85-9K) to close this active RSU.
