Some customers may have one or more of the following
concerns:

Condition

Cause

1. Drivers Headlight stuck on causing a battery draw
2. Drivers Headlamp / Turn Signal / High
Beam inoperative or flickering
3. Accessory Illuminated Emblem is inoperative
The cause of these concerns could be water intrusion
from GM Accessory Illuminated Emblem, which connects
inline with the Driver's Side Headlight.

Correction:
- If the GM Accessory Illuminated Emblem was disabled per the original version
of this PI, then remove the illuminated emblem and harness. Next, replace it
with a new GM Accessory Illuminated Emblem kit which has been redesigned,
see parts section below for more info. Install all the components in the new
emblem kit.
- If the vehicle is coming in for the first time with this issue, then perform the
following.
Inspect for water intrusion/corrosion in the following areas:

1. At the GM Accessory Illuminated Emblem Connection(1), shown below.

2. At the Drivers side headlight connector and the inline GM
Accessory Illuminated Emblem Harness (2), shown below.

3.
- If water/corrosion is found, then perform all necessary repairs to the
Headlamp connector on the Body Harness and clean the Headlamp Assembly
terminals. Then remove the illuminated emblem and harness and replace it
with a new GM Accessory Illuminated Emblem kit which has been redesigned,
see parts section below for more info. Install all the components in the new
emblem kit.
Note: The Headlamp assembly is not currently known to be a source of the
water intrusion.
4. - If NO water/corrosion is found at any of the connectors, then the source of
the issue is not the GM Accessory Illuminated Emblem and normal SI
diagnostics will need to be followed.
Parts Information
For all colors except Black, order a new GM Accessory Illuminated Emblem kit.
For a Black GM Accessory Illuminated Emblem kit, make sure the part being
ordered notes "DESIGN 2" in the EPC or Accessory Information Center under the
"engineering tab", as shown below.
