Purpose
This document outlines removal and replacement of the LED lights on Solera® awnings.
Safety
Read and understand all instructions before installing or operating this product. Adhere to all safety labels.
This manual provides general instructions. Many variables can change the circumstances of the instructions,
i.e., the degree of difficulty, operation and ability of the individual performing the instructions. This
manual cannot begin to plot out instructions for every possibility, but provides the general instructions,
as necessary, for effectively interfacing with the device, product or system. Failure to correctly follow the
provided instructions may result in death, serious personal injury, severe product and/or property damage,
including voiding of the Lippert limited warranty.

Custom Sizing and Cutting of The LED Strip
To determine which replacement style light strip to use, note whether the wire enters the wall at the top of
the arm or at the bottom of the arm and purchase the appropriate version.
There are four available lengths for most awning fabric LED light strip kits. Measure from edge to edge on
the awning fabric:
A. If the awning width measures 14' or under, order the 13' LED light strip.
B._ If the awning width measures from 16' to over 14', order the 15' LED light strip.
C. If the awning width measures from 19' to over 16', order the 18' LED light strip.
D._ If the awning width measures from 22' to over 19', order the 21' LED light strip.
If a custom size is necessary, follow the steps below.
1. Measure from edge to edge the awning width.
2. Use that measurement to determine the appropriate size needed and whether or not to customize the
length of the LED light strip.
3. If cutting is necessary:
A. Make sure to start the measurement from the end where the wires attach on the LED light strip.
B. Usea pair of sharp scissors to cut LED lights along the black line at the nearest copper cut tab (Fig.1A).

If cutting the LED light strip is required, it is very important to cut only on the given cut line at the
copper cut tabs (Fig.1A).

FabLED (Fabric LED)
Removing the Old LED Light Strip
1. Extend awning to easily access the polycord on the awning fabric. The awning does not have to be
fully extended.
2. Turn off power in unit and remove wire covers on the drive mount arm (Fig. 2A).
NOTE: Wiring from the unit's power through the wall to the awning may be at the top or the bottom of the
drive arm mount.

Make sure the light switch inside the unit is in the off position to prevent electrical damage and/or
personal harm.
3. Disconnect the LED wiring from unit wiring. Cut if a hard wire or unplug if SAE.
4. Remove the glue at both ends of the light track holding existing LED light strip in place (Fig. 3).

5. — Slide the LED light strip completely out from the light extrusion track.
NOTE: Replacing all the wiring to the switch and power source and replacing the switch
should not be necessary.
6. To measure and cut LED light strip, refer to Custom Sizing and Cutting of the LED Strip section.

Replacing with The New LED Light Strip
1. Spray silicone lubricant down the track so it is easier to slide the new LED light strip into place.
2. — Slide new LED light strip completely down the awning fabric polycord. Start with the end of the strip
that is not wired, and slide toward the direction of the idler arm. The wires will need to remain on the
drive mount arm side.
3. Splice and connect the new LED light strip wires into the unit's harness where the original wires were
connected (Fig. 4A). If SAE, then simply plug in connector.

NOTE: Make sure the red wire is connected to power and black wire is connected to ground.
4. Reinstall wire covers into the drive mount arm.
5. Apply either silicone or hot glue into the ends of track to hold the light in place.
6. Seal the freshly exposed LED end with a dab of silicone along the edge and let dry.
NOTE: As of June 2018, LED lights now come equipped with a built-in resettable fuse.

Pairing
1. Ensure the RF RGB controller is properly connected to power and powered on.
2. Confirm that there is a solid connection between the RF RGB controller and the LED light.
3. Press and hold the "WHITE" button for 5 seconds or until the light flashes.
4. (If) Pairing is successful, the light will flash.
5. (If) Pairing is NOT successful:
A. Make sure the remote is close to the RF RGB controller.
B. Check to see if the plastic tab that protects the battery in the remote has been removed.
C. Determine if the lights flashed. Once power is supplied to the RF RGB controller, there is a window
of 15 seconds to pair it.
6. If these steps do not result in successful pairing, see a Troubleshooting manual.
