Certain Maserati Grecale MY23 MY24 listed in MODISCS+ are involved in a Rapid Update to
add extra protective tape to both rear "Door to body" connectors.
Some vehicles may have been fitted with a protective weather seal boot on the body-to-door
connectors that may not ensure proper insulation against moisture infiltration. To address this, a
rework has been devised: taping the boot to the connector to prevent any potential moisture
infiltration.
We remind you that all the Rapid Updates must be performed within the first workshop visit,
regardless of the Mandatory setting set in Modis, as required by Maserati policies.
Also, for vehicles in Stock Dealer / PDI, it is necessary to carry out all action operations before
delivery to the end customer, as required by the White Book and explicitly reported in the Predelivery checklist.

The procedure described in this bulletin involves sealing the protective rubber boot using a
specialized self-amalgamating ethylene-propylene tape (commonly known as “rescue tape”
not electrical tape) as shown below.
The expected amount of tape used in this rework is approximately 6-8 inches in total, which will
be reimbursed via warranty claim.

TSSA-1.5-.76-15-1 Gamma Electronics (magic tape)
ER Tape: Black 1" x 12' Self-Fusing Tape
Maxwel KE30S self-fusing tape
All tapes are available through 3rd party suppliers. The parts dept will not be supplying these
tapes.
Technical Procedure

1. Always check ModisCS+ to see if the vehicle is involved in this action and if it has not been
previously performed.
2. Disconnect the battery according to the instructions in the workshop manual:
a. 08.20.001 - BATTERY - Connecting/disconnecting the electrical power supply
3. Identify the connectors to perform the rework. It is located in the internal area of both left and
right rear doors.
4. Disconnect the connector.

6. If there are evident signs of damage to the connector, corrosion on a single or multiple terminal
female pin, or if the customer has reported malfunctions related to this connector, open a
BlueOnLine as "Support Request" and wait for further instructions.
7. If there are no signs of damage to the connector or female pins. Continue with the rework:
8. With the connector disconnected from the vehicle, adjust the protective rubber boot so that it
is properly fitted to the plastic exterior of the connector as shown below. Next, use a strip of
“self-bonding tape” approximately 6-8 inches in length and tightly wrap the rubber boot to the
connector. To ensure a tight seal, slightly stretch the tape so that half of its width contacts the
boot and the other half contacts the connector during the initial wrap. Continue wrapping,
finishing with at least two complete loops.

5. Remove the rubber wire cover/boot and check that there are no obvious signs of corrosion on
the terminal pins (see examples below).
Finished outcome of the rework
10. Repeat the same rework on the other connector on the opposite site of the vehicle.
11. Procedure complete.
Preliminary note to the opening of the BOL
The likelihood of severely damaged connectors is extremely low. However, we have prepared a
backup connector kit in case it becomes necessary to replace one or more pins or the entire
Connector housing. If this situation arises, please open a BOL to determine the required level of
intervention and, if necessary, obtain replacement authorization of the components.

locked.
