Issue Summary
Symptom:
¢ Fault Code 58 - Exhaust Gas Temperature Shutdown
Root Cause:
¢ Intake manifold bolts are not torqued properly causing a vacuum leak
Resolution
HGJAx generator sets manufactured before generator serial number C240323604 may have
incorrect intake manifold bolt torque. If unit shuts down on Fault Code 58, proceed to the
resolution section.

If generator set is experiencing high exhaust temperature shutdowns,
Step 1: Inspect the intake manifold bolts and check for vacuum leaks.
a. If vacuum leak is found, follow intake manifold torque recommendations laid out in the Service
Manual A035D011 or A049V684.
b. If Fault Code 58 remains active, proceed to step 2 below.
Step 2: Complete troubleshooting steps for Fault Code 58 found in the Service Manuals.
