PROCEDURE:
Part 1 Illumination and Diode Inspection
NOTE: All inspections and lights replaced must be documented on the inspection log and it must be returned to the RPSM and TSS
for recovery.

1. Turn the main battery disconnect switch to the “ON” position.
2. Locate the side console light toggle switch or rotary light switch located on the side or center dash panel and
turn it to the on position or the high position on a rotary switch.
3. Inspect for lights that stand out being much dimmer than other units in the same fleet or lights that are INOP.
4. Note the light as good or if the light is very dim or INOP on your inspection matrix.
5. Replace any lights identified as dim or INOP. Refer to step 12 for light replacement.
6. Turn the main battery disconnect switch to the “OFF” position.
7. Loosen the driver console retaining screws with flat tip screwdriver and raise the side console to gain access
to the underside of the driver console. See Figure 1.

8. Locate the console light wiring in the upper left hand corner of the underside of the dash panel. Visually inspect
the light circuit boards for the correct qty of diodes which are visible through the heat shrink over the circuit
board. See Figure 2.
Note: Circuit board shown below has heat shrink removed for reference only for better view, removal
not required.
9. If the light wiring circuit board has two raised areas (Diodes) the light is to be identified as having the correct
circuit board. Note the bus as having the correct components on the matrix and re-secure the dash panel and
return to service. See Figure 2.
10. If the light wiring circuit board has only one raised area (Diode) the light is to be identified as having the incorrect
circuit board. Note the bus as having the incorrect components on the matrix.
11. Buses identified with only one diode will require replacement. Move to step 12 under console light replacement.

Part 2 Console Light Replacement
NOTE: All inspections and lights replaced must be documented on the inspection log and it must be returned to the RPSM and TSS
for recovery. All lights replaced are to be handled and packaged with care and returned at one time with the bus #, part # and ITS #.

12. Remove wire ties from side console light wiring and disconnect the side console light connector. See Figure 3.
13. Using a TT-600-4 wire terminal tool remove the terminals from the light wiring connector. See Figure 3.

14. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver remove the side console light mounting screws (NF PN 15S00010BK) and
washers (NF PN 50W00000BK). Remove exiting light and set hardware aside for re-installation. See Figure 4.
15. Locate the new side console light item #1 and using a TT-600-4 wire terminal tool remove the terminals from
the light wiring connector.
Note: Note the cavity each wire is removed from.
16. Route the new light wiring through the side dash panel and behind the ICC valve to prevent chaffing. Secure
light grommet in place. See Figure 4.
17. Secure the light to the side console with the existing mounting screws (NF PN 15S00010BK) and washers (NF
PN 50W00000BK) until hand tight. See Figure 4.
18. Re-install the light wiring terminals to correct cavity location on the connector.
19. Re-secure the light wiring and secure with item #2 Tyrap and trim flush with tywrap cutters to ensure there are
no sharp edges. (Source locally)
Note: Tyrap excess light wiring slack near the wiring connector.
20. Remove all debris from the side console.

21. Close the side console and secure with existing retaining screws hand tight with a flat tip screwdriver. See
Figure 5.
22. Turn the main battery disconnect switch to the “ON” position.
Locate the panel light toggle switch or rotary light switch on the dash panel or side dash and turn to the on
position. See Figure 5. Ensure the light functions properly and return the bus to service. Note the light has
been replaced.
23. Remove all tools and return the bus to service.
