Campaign
Service all affected chassis that enter your dealership, even if the customer has no issue with the chassis.
1. Review the attached chassis list for your dealer code and schedule your customer(s) for service if their chassis is
on the list.
2. In Service Management, select Campaign E298 to add it to the case. If the unit is released back into service
without performing the repair, make sure to also release the Campaign in Service Management.
3. If you are not using Service Management to start repair orders, review SIR for “Complete” or "In Process" next to
the “E298” campaign code prior to performing this repair.
4. Follow the procedures below to replace the Crankcase Pressure Sensor and clear fault codes.
5. Attach a Trip and Total Recorder Report and a DAVIE4 Session Report to the warranty claim. See procedures for
details.
Warranty
For repairs completed by 08/31/2024, Peterbilt will pay for parts at dealer net plus applicable mark-up and labor:
• 0.6 hours labor to replace Crankcase Pressure Sensor and clear inactive DTCs with no active DTCs. Use Quick Claim
Code E298A.
• 0.8 hours labor to replace Crankcase Pressure Sensor and perform repair verification for active code P1404. Use Quick
Claim Code E298B.
• 1.2 hours labor to replace Crankcase Pressure Sensor and perform repair verification for active code P1407. Use Quick
Claim Code E298C.
• 0.6 hours labor to replace Crankcase Pressure Sensor and perform repair verification for active code P1408 and/or
P1870. Use Quick Claim Code E298D.
Attach a Trip and Total Recorder Report and a DAVIE4 Session report to the warranty claim to document active fault
codes. See procedures for details.
Additional troubleshooting and repairs for active DTCs are NOT covered by this bulletin or quick claims. File for
additional troubleshooting and repair as appropriate in accordance with any applicable warranty.
• File an additional claim for extraordinary circumstances. A quick claim for standard labor must be filed first.
• File the claim within 14 days in accordance with warranty policy.

Peterbilt is pleased to inform you that we extended Campaign E298 and certain vehicles with an EMY2018 MX-11 engine remain eligible to
receive a replacement of the crankcase pressure sensor. Our records indicate that your vehicle has not received this repair, and this repair
will be performed at no charge to you.

Peterbilt will replace the crankcase pressure sensor.
What will this improvement do?
Remove the possibility of a contaminated crankcase pressure sensor.
