X15 Nozzle Replacement on Degraded Fuel Injectors

Description

This campaign is being issued to repair degraded fuel injectors on certain X15 certified engines.
The full set of injectors will be replaced with rebuilt injectors to minimize fuel injector degradation
that may cause excessive regeneration or excessive soot accumulation in DPF. This campaign
authorizes certified repair locations to remove and replace the degraded fuel injectors with repaired
fuel injectors received from a certified Rebuild Center.

Note : This field action provides retroactive coverage for repairs made prior to the
release of this publication.

Action

In order to qualify for repair under this field action, an engine:

1. will be covered Regardless of coverage status, and
2. must show as OPEN on QuickServe® Online for this field action.

Note : The ESN list is attached for reference.
After verifying that the engine meets the above requirements, perform the following actions:

Note : Packaging Boxes have been shipped to target Service Provider based on
scheduled repair locations for target units. Please contact [email protected] to

secure the necessary packaging boxes, if they have not already been provided.

1. Please refer to the appropriate Service Manual. Following procedure 006-026 under Section 6
for Injector, proceed to remove all 6 fuel injectors.

2. ALL removed injectors MUST be cleaned prior to packaging. Complete the cleaning procedure
on the injectors to minimize any fuel excess. Please refer to Attachment B, Pre-Shipping
Cleaning Procedure for detailed instructions.

3. The Service provider MUST use the shipping label as indicated in Attachment B. AQR Code
has been provided for your convenience. Complete the information as required and submit the
form. Generate the label and affix to the packaging box. As an alternative, the actual url link
has been provided.

Note : Shipping Label will auto populate to the nearest Fuel Injector Rebuild
Center.

4. Once Fuel Injectors have been returned from Rebuild Center, proceed to install fuel injectors
per procedure 006-026 as directed in the appropriate Service Manual. All required seals and
additional components for installation will be included within the returned packaging box.

5. Once installation is completed, proceed to complete Injector Performance Test (IPT) to verify
appropriate functionality of all 6 Fuel Injectors. Replace any injectors that fail to pass the IPT
test with a ReCon Injector, Cummins P/N 6513589.

Note : All Injectors replaced with part number 6513589 are subjected to audit
based on IPT Results and should be claimed against this campaign.

Material Disposition

Where applicable, materials removed as a result of this field action must be returned to Cummins.
Parts flagged via the Cummins Enhanced Parts Return (EPR) process should be returned
following the stated instructions. Please return the parts to:

Note : Parts covered by the Field Action are to be returned to the Cummins Service
Support Center. Please include a copy of the claim paperwork and a material return tag
with the returned parts. Include the ESN number, the Campaign #7018, and the claim
number on the material return tag. For Cummins returns, record WebCumpas# on the
outside of the box. For PACCAR returns, record CRA# or Eztrac#. Items not flagged for
EPR should be returned to ReCon for core credit. Unless otherwise indicated, items
with no core liability can be scrapped.

on the details of items claimed. A lack of documentation in the narrative may result in a
reduction in claim reimbursement or claim denial.
