Dear Dealers,
We would like to inform you that the first production batch of Hypermotard 698 MY24 has
been shipped with a non-compliant Rear Brake Fluid Reservoir Cover, part no. 4601R541A
inside the supplied PDI kit or without this cover in the kit.
This does not affect functionality but only aesthetics.
We also inform you that as of 01/23/2024, the DMH production line has started to install the
rear brake fluid reservoir cover directly on the vehicles, therefore it is no longer necessary to
install this component during pre-delivery operations as indicated in the model introduction
bulletin SRV-SRB-23-069.
With this Workshop Campaign we therefore extend the possibility of installing the component
on the vehicles that do not have it.
Only for the involved vehicles proceed as follows:
•

If the cover is included in the supplied kit, it is necessary to scrap the rear brake fluid
reservoir cover available in the kit as it is not compliant and order a new cover, part no.
4601R541A.

•

If the cover is NOT included in the supplied kit, it is necessary for the dealer to order the
new cover, part no. 4601R541A.

For installation of the rear brake fluid reservoir cover it is necessary to use, in addition to the
screw already fitted on the vehicle, the TBEIF M5X8 screw part no. 77240243C; this screw
should be included in the supplied kit, but if this is not the case, it must be ordered (we have
increased the labor reimbursement in advance to compensate for the cost of the screw).
WARNING
The list of vehicles involved in this Workshop Campaign has been defined as of the
date of publication, but you could receive motorcycles with the rear brake fluid
reservoir cover already installed and with active Workshop Campaign. In this case,
please inform your Service Area Manager to request removal of the VIN from the
Workshop Campaign.

It is possible to search for all the frame numbers that you
received from Ducati Motor Holding.

Client Impact
All motorcycles in your inventory (to be registered or already registered) and to be delivered to
final Clients, will have to be updated during pre-delivery operation, always before delivery to
the final Client. Note: this is NOT a safety recall.

For installation of the rear brake fluid reservoir cover it is necessary to use, in addition to the
screw already fitted on the vehicle, the TBEIF M5X8 screw part no. 77240243C; this screw
should be included in the supplied kit, but if this is not the case, it must be ordered (we have
increased the labor reimbursement in advance to compensate for the cost of the screw, the
part number will not be added also).
Parts Distribution
The part no. 4601R541A required to carry out the update under this Workshop Campaign must
be ordered for each affected frame number. If the TBEIF M5X8 screw part no. 77240243C is
not supplied with the PDI kit, then this must be ordered as well.
Warranty Reimbursement Rules
Reimbursement for work associated with this Workshop Campaign will be made through the
regular warranty claim procedure using the “VIN History” section of the DCS.
The warranty claim is pre-filled and identified as CR265
Operation includes reimbursement for the parts listed for the operation, consumables for
carrying out the work; and labor for
that includes the time

WARNING
To ensure the correct execution of the operation within the provided labor time to
carry out the updates, it is necessary to follow the sequence indicated in the
following instructions.
We recommend taking your time to fully understand the procedure before
attempting its implementation on the motorcycle (you may print the document in
color for a better understanding).
We also remind you that the work environment where you carry out the procedure
and the tools and equipment used (wrenches and gloves) must be clean.
1. Position the motorcycle on the rear paddock stand.
2. Loosen screw (1) M6x18 while holding nut (2).
Release the rear brake fluid reservoir (3) from the RH footpeg holder plate.
Collect M6x18 screw (1) as it will be reused to refit the rear brake fluid reservoir cover, see
point 4).

3. Take a NEW rear brake fluid reservoir cover part no. 4601R541A.
WARNING
If the rear brake fluid reservoir cover is already included in the PDI kit supplied, it must
be scrapped as it is not compliant.
See the difference between compliant and non-compliant cover below.
•

COMPLIANT → Threaded metal insert visible and aligned with the hole (Fig. 1)

•

NON-COMPLIANT → Threaded metal insert NOT visible and not aligned with the hole

(Fig. 2)

4. Fasten rear brake fluid reservoir (3) to rear brake fluid reservoir cover (4) part no.
4601R541A using TBEIF M5X8 screw (5) part no. 77240243C.
Tighten TBEIF M5X8 screw (5) part no. 77240243C to a torque of 2 Nm ± 10%.
Fasten rear brake fluid reservoir cover (4) part no. 4601R541A to RH footpeg holder plate
using M6x18 screw (1) collected during the previous assembly.
Tighten the M6x18 screw (1) to a torque of 2 Nm ±10%.

5. Check that the fluid pipe between rear brake fluid reservoir and rear brake master cylinder
is correctly positioned in the fastening/retaining points behind the heel guard.
6. Remove the bike rear paddock stand.
7. Perform a soft cleaning of the motorcycle before delivering it to the Client.
