Exhaust Pipe and Heat Shield Issues on FCCC 6-Liter Gas Engine Step Vans.

Symptoms

Unit may exhibit an exhaust failure and/or a rattle complaint coming from converter or heat shields.

Issue

Exhaust pipes re-designed without heat shields, while locating the heat shields mounted to transmission.

Solution

Please read the attached Word document thoroughly and completely in order to understand the appropriate

remedy in order the address the issue with your vehicle, as there are several different variations of suggested

repair. The verbiage in the Word document will direct you to several of the attached installation drawings for

reference. **The removal of any heat shields from existing exhaust pipes should be done with a cutting

wheel or disc. (Heat shield 1* is adjacent to the engine oil filter on the LH pipe. This 1* shield MUST

always remain in place, as it is NOT included in the new transmission mounted shields.) Even the new

LH pipe will have a different type of shield in this location.
