INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT (V2307)

INFORMATION

CONDITION
In some 2022-2023MY Isuzu F-Series trucks, the rear engine motor mounts may become
loose, causing a noticeable vibration while driving.
CORRECTION
Isuzu dealers will inspect the rear engine motor mounts for this condition and repair them
as necessary. This service will be provided free of charge.
VEHICLES INVOLVED
Involved are certain 2022-2023MY Isuzu F-Series vehicles.
NOTE: It is not necessary to open a TAC case or generate a health report in order
to submit a warranty claim for this campaign.
NOTE: Dealers are to confirm vehicle eligibility prior to beginning repairs by using the
Isuzu Vehicle Information System (IVIS).
For dealers with involved vehicles, a report of involved vehicles containing the complete
vehicle identification number has been or will be provided. Dealers will not have a report
available if they have no involved vehicles currently assigned.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Look up the VIN in the Isuzu Vehicle Information System (IVIS) and confirm the
vehicle is affected by this campaign.
2. Shift vehicle to park, turn off engine, set parking brake, and block rear wheels.
3. Safely tilt the cab and insert the safety pin per the instructions in the applicable
workshop manual (WSM).
4. Place a closed end wrench or socket with breaker bar on the bolt of one of the
rear engine mounts as shown in Figures 1 and 2. Position the wrench or breaker
bar against a solid surface so that the bolt cannot turn counterclockwise.
Note: Have a helper hold the wrench or breaker bar steady as necessary.

5. Using a torque wrench set at 100 N•m, turn each rear engine mount’s nut
clockwise and see if the nut turns before the torque wrench reaches 100 N•m.
(See Figure 3.)
a. If both nuts reach 100 N•m without turning, the mount is still tight. skip to
Step 14.
b. If either nut turns before reaching 100 N•m (or if the nuts are missing), the
mounts are considered loose and will need to be repaired. Continue to
Step 6 to replace the bolt, washer, isolator, and nut for both rear engine
mounts.

6. Remove the clamp holding the exhaust pipe just before the flex joint and
separate exhaust connection. (See Figure 4.)

7. Remove and discard the center mount bolt (1), washer (2), and nut (4) on one
side. (See Figure 5.)

Caution: When raising or supporting the engine for any reason, do not use a jack
under the oil pan, any sheet metal, or the crankshaft pulley. Lifting the engine in
an unapproved manner may cause component damage.
Note: When raising the engine, only raise it enough to separate the engine mount
from the engine mount bracket. Raising it any further will require removal of the
fan shroud or the exhaust pipe.
8. Raise the engine with a jack and block of wood on the flywheel housing as
shown in Figure 6. Only raise the engine enough to separate the engine mount
from engine mount bracket.

9. Remove and discard the upper (3) and lower (6) isolators from the engine mount
bracket (5). (See Figure 7.)

10. Check the underside surface area of the mount for rust. Remove any rust and
clean the surface area. (See Figure 8.)

11. Place the new upper (3) and lower (6) isolators onto the mount bracket (5). (See
Figure 7.)
12. Lower the engine, and install the new washer (2), bolt (1) and nut (4). (See
Figure 7.)
13. Repeat Steps 8 through 12 for the opposite side engine mount. Once both
mounts have been repaired, proceed to the next step.
Note: The jack and block of wood on the flywheel housing may have to be
repositioned to be able to remove and replace the isolators on each side of the
engine.

14. Place and position a closed end wrench or breaker bar onto each bolt (1), as
described in Step 4, and tighten both nuts (4) to the tightening specification. (See
Figure 9.) Tightening torque: 482 N•m (356 lb•ft)
Note: Have a helper hold the wrench or breaker bar steady as necessary.

15. Using a paint pen, mark both mount nuts indicating the mount torque has been
completed. (See Figure 10.)

16. If disconnected in Step 7, connect the exhaust flex joint and tighten the clamp to
specification.
Tightening Torque: 10 N•m (7.4 lb•ft)
17. Lower the cab and properly lock it in place per the instructions in the applicable
WSM.
18. Proceed to Applying the Campaign Label.

APPLYING THE CAMPAIGN LABEL
19. Using a ball-point pen, fill in a campaign label (Part No. 2-90028-700-0) with
Campaign Number V2307, Isuzu dealer code, and repair date.
20. Affix the campaign label onto the driver's side B-pillar.

CAMPAIGN CLAIM INFORMATION
Refer to the Isuzu ICS Claims Processing Manual for details on Campaign Claim
Submission. Submit only one claim as indicated below.
NOTE: Failure to submit campaign claims in a timely manner may result in nonpayment. Accepted/Paid claims will change campaign status to “Closed” in IVIS.
Submit claims as quickly as possible in order to close the campaign and ensure
payment.

DEALER RESPONSIBILITY
All vehicles in dealers' possession and subject to this customer satisfaction campaign
must be held and repaired per the service procedure of this campaign bulletin before
customers take possession of these vehicles.
Customers who have recently purchased vehicles sold from your vehicle inventory, and
for which there is no customer information indicated on the dealer listing, are to be
contacted by the dealer. Arrangements are to be made to make the required correction
according to the instructions contained in this bulletin. A copy of the customer letter is
provided in this bulletin for your use in contacting customers. Program follow-up cards
should not be used for this purpose, since the customer may not as yet have received the
notification letter.
In summary, whenever a vehicle subject to this customer satisfaction campaign enters
your vehicle inventory, or is in your dealership, you must take the steps necessary to be
sure the recall correction has been made before selling or releasing the vehicle.
