Granturismo – Brake Pad Sensor Connector

Certain Maserati GranTurismo (189) MY24 listed in MODISCS+ are involved in a Rapid Update to
inspect the brake pad sensor connector.
This action is necessary because, in a limited number of vehicles, the brake pad sensor
connector weather seal and the protective cap may be absent. This issue has no impact on the
functionality of the braking system. The procedure consists of inspecting the presence of these
two components on the connector and possibly replacing them.
We remind you that all the Rapid Updates must be performed within the first workshop visit,
regardless of the Mandatory setting set in Modis, as required by Maserati policies.
Also, for vehicles in Stock Dealer / PDI, it is necessary to carry out all action operations before
delivery to the end customer, as required by the White Book and explicitly reported in the Predelivery checklist.

Technical Procedure
TECHNICAL SERVICE OPERATIONS

All images shown in this bulletin are for illustrative purposes only
1. Always check ModisCS+ to see if the vehicle is involved in this action and if it has not been
previously performed.
2. Disconnect the 12V battery following the procedure given in the workshop manual:
a. 08.20.001 - BATTERY - Connection-disconnection of electrical power supply
3. Remove the front wheels following the procedure given in the workshop manual.
a. 06.00.002 LEFT FRONT WHEEL RIM. Detachment/reattachment
4. Locate the pad wear sensor connector (A) on the caliper, and disconnect it to check the
presence of the weather seal (in green) and the protection cap (in yellow).

NOT OK

OK

5. Carry out the check on both LF and RF brake pad wear sensors.
6. INSPECTION RESULTS:
•

OK ► The Weather seal and the protection cap are present on both front pad wear
sensor connectors. No further action needed.

•

NOT OK ► The Weather seal and or the protection cap are missing on either LF or RF
pad wear sensor connectors. The affected connector will need to be replaced. Open
BOL for “SUPPORT REQUEST” attach pictures and await further instructions.

Connector replacement procedure
TECHNICAL SERVICE OPERATIONS

ATTENTION! Await BOL instructions before replacing the connector(s).
1. Replace the connector following the procedure indicated in bulletin MAS000766 and the
workshop manual:
a. 0.30.005 - CONNECTOR REPAIR - REPLACEMENT – Warnings
7. Re-install all the removed parts following the procedure in reverse order.
8. Procedure completed.

Spare parts
In case the inspection is NOT OK. Connector(s) will need to be replaced. Await further
instructions from BOL to receive the parts needed to perform the replacement.
