and could become loose and/or fail. Procedures are available to replace and properly torque the hardware.
Chassis Affected
7,951 (7,543 US and 408 CAN) Model 579 MLU chassis with Cummins X15 engines built from 06/17/2020 through 05/02/2022.
Action
Campaign
Service all chassis affected that enter your dealership, even if the customer has no issue with the chassis.
1. Review the attached chassis list for your dealer code and schedule your customer(s) for service if their chassis is on the list.
2. In Service Management, select Campaign 45065 to add it to the case. If the unit is released back into service without performing the repair, make sure
to also release the Campaign in Service Management.
3. If you are not using Service Management to start repair orders, review SIR for “Complete” next to the 45065 Campaign code prior to performing this

Warranty
For repairs completed by 10/01/2024, Peterbilt will pay for parts at dealer net plus applicable mark-up and labor:
• 1.0 hour to remove and replace fan hub bracket hardware. Use Quick Claim code 45065A.
• For extraordinary circumstances please use code 45065, add from “Recommended Repairs”, and then select the gear icon to edit Parts/Labor/Misc.
• File the claim within 14 days in accordance with warranty policy.

Field Repair Notice: 45-065 – 579 MLU Cummins X15 Fan Hub Hardware
EXPIRATION DATE: 10/01/2024
Dear Peterbilt Customer,
Peterbilt has determined that certain Model 579 MLU with Cummins X15 engines built from 06/17/20 through 05/02/22 have an issue with
fan hub bracket mounting hardware that is incorrect for the application and/or under-torqued. As a result, the hardware may become loose
and/or fail.
What is the issue?
Certain 579 MLU chassis equipped with Cummins X15 engines have fan hub
bracket hardware that may be incorrect for the application and/or undertorqued and could become loose and/or fail.
What action will your dealer take?
Remove the existing hardware, replace it with new, and apply the correct
amount of installation torque.
What should you do?
Contact your dealer immediately to schedule an appointment.

Locator at www.Peterbilt.com or scan the QR code. When contacting your Peterbilt dealer, refer to campaign 45-065 and the VIN(s) listed
in this letter. The work for this improvement will take approximately 1 hour of labor depending on vehicle configuration and dealer
scheduling. There will be no charge to you if completed within standard warranty or by 09/01/2024, whichever is later.
