Summary
This Revised Technical Service Bulletin was sent to dealers directing them upon customer complaint basis and after diagnosis, to replace the ignition coils of all cylinders with countermeasure parts when customers report a MIL illumination and a loss of engine power due to the vehicle being in fail safe mode. Unstable idling due to poor contact of the ignition coil terminal and DTC P030X may create this concern.

This bulletin supersedes TSB-22-16-001 issued March 2022, to update the Affected Vehicle
years and provide VIN cut-off information. Revisions are italicized and indicated by:
PURPOSE
Customers may advise of MIL illumination and a loss of engine power due to the vehicle being
in fail safe mode. Unstable idling due to poor contact of the ignition coil terminal and DTC
P030X may create the concern.
Upon customer complaint basis and after diagnosis, please replace the ignition coils of ALL
cylinders with countermeasure parts. Please follow the procedure below to identify the
countermeasure parts.

PROCEDURE
Verify that the parts being used for replacement are countermeasure parts. There are two
ways to verify:
Genuine parts identification:
1. The genuine part label for the countermeasure parts will have a total of 3 digits and
the third one will be a "T".
2. Please note that the countermeasure parts will have the "T" until March 2022.
3. After April 2022, the countermeasure parts will no longer have the "T" on the
genuine part label and will return to 2 digits.

Lot number identification:
There are 6 digits of the lot number engraved on top of the ignition coil. The 4 digits from the
left indicate the production date. The 5th and 6th digit indicate the inspection machine
number. Countermeasure parts are produced after the following dates:
• Part 1832A083: 1Y10**(2021/Nov/10) or later
• Part 1832A080/1832A090: 1Y09**(2021/Nov/9) or later
