FSB 381-049, Instrument Cluster Reprogramming

(MID 140)

(May 2013)

On some Mack ISL-G models built, between January 1, 2009 and January 21, 2013, may

experience a fault code, MID140 PSID 200 FMI 9, when the engine software is updated. This

fault is due to a message being turned off in the new engine software.

To resolve this issue follow the procedure below:

You must read and understand the precautions and guidelines in Service Information,

group 30, "General Safety Practices, Electrical and Electronics" before performing this

procedure. If you are not properly trained and certified in this procedure, ask your

supervisor for training before you perform it.
Repair

1 Secure the vehicle for service by parking it on a flat level surface, applying the parking

brake, chocking the rear wheels, and placing the transmission in neutral.

2 Use PTT parameter programming and set IBT = 0 in the Instrument Cluster, MID 140.

3 Verify proper Instrument Cluster operation.
