TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY NOISE - This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. This bulletin provides information to replace the rear self-leveling shock insulator and locking nut on some 2020-2021MY Telluride (ON) vehicles produced from January 1, 2019 through December 1, 2020 which may exhibit noise from the rear of the vehicle while driving over bumps or on a bumpy road. Replacing the insulator instead of the complete rear shock assembly is recommended to help raise customer satisfaction with the reduced customer repair expense.

This bulletin provides information to replace the rear self-leveling shock insulator and locking nut on some
2020-2021MY Telluride (ON) vehicles produced from January 1, 2019 through December 1, 2020 which may
exhibit noise from the rear of the vehicle while driving over bumps or on a bumpy road. Replace the insulator
instead of the complete rear shock assembly. Follow the procedure outlined in this publication to replace the
rear shock insulators using the new insulator assembly kit.

Replace the two (2) left and right side, rear
shock (A) insulators (B) by referring to the

NOTICE
Be sure to use the new self-locking
nut from the Insulator Kit (one for
each side).

Reinstall the two (2) reassembled rear shock
absorbers (A) with the new insulator.
Tightening torque for Bolts (C):
72.3 – 86.8 lb.ft (98.1 – 117.7 N.m,
10.0 – 12.0 kgf.m)
Tightening torque for Bolt/Nut (D):
101.3 – 115.7 lb.ft (137.3 – 156.9 N.m,
