Model 60 Multi-fit Coupler Repair Kit

K74-325-00: MODEL 60 MULTI-FIT COUPLER REPAIR KIT

KIT MAY INCLUDE NEWER COMPONENTS THAT MAY DIFFER THAN THE

COMPONENTS BEING TAKEN OFF THE ACTUATOR. DO NOT REUSE OLD

COMPONENTS.
Remove the ball latch, tapered compression spring, and the hand

wheel lever lock and discard.

1/2” hex bolt
IF THE COUPLER HOUSING HAS WEAR OR DAMAGE, THE ACTUATOR

NEEDS REPLACED.
DISASSEMBLY

Extend coupler fully forward, ensuring the shock damper is

extended. Use needle nose pliers to remove the lock ring clip from

the adjustable handle bolt and discard.

INSTALLATION

1.
Prepare the new ball latch jaw by first sliding the retainer bracket

onto the 1/2” hex bolt, making sure the hex of the bolt is seated

inside the retainer bracket.

Hold the ball latch and bolt from underneath the coupler, remove

the multi-fit hand wheel by turning counter clockwise and discard.

it from falling out while removing

Slide the bolt and retainer into the ball latch then slide the tapered

compression spring over the hex bolt with the larger diameter end of

the spring.

Push the hex bolt out through the bottom of the coupler, remove and

discard all attaching hardware.

From the ball side of the coupler, feed the handle end of the hand

wheel lock lever through the notch in the coupler case. Ensure the

tab is facing up.

Using a socket or box wrench, remove the attaching bolt and locknut

that goes through the ball latch, then discard.
5.
While holding the ball latch, swing the shock damper out of the way.

While holding the hand wheel lock lever in place, slide the new ball

latch assembly, up through the lever latch hole and coupler case

seating the top coil of the spring around the raised ridge on the hand

wheel lock lever.

Compress the ball latch assembly and spring against the hand

wheel lock lever, then install the multi-fit hand wheel onto the hex

bolt threads

Slide the bolt through the coupler, the shock damper loop and ball

latch. Install locknut onto the bolt. Ensure components are aligned

then toque the nut to 15 ft-lbs.

Install the locknut on the 1/2” hex bolt, ensuring the with locking

feature is facing up, until 2 threads of the bolt extrudes through the

top of the lock nut.

After installation, road test in a safe location.
