1.0 – Introduction
ODIS Service application versions 2.1.0 and higher on diagnostic devices with Windows® 7 can be
integrated with ElsaPro for access to various web-based “Infomedia”. Access to Repair Information,
Wiring Diagrams, vehicle PR numbers, repair and campaign histories, repair order details and lists etc. are
possible during a diagnostic session.
This document describes the initial setup steps necessary for Infomedia integration.
The setup procedure consists of two parts:
1. Configure the dealership information in ODIS Service.
2. Download, extract and run an automatic setup utility.
Notes:
• The following procedures must be performed by qualified personnel only!
• Please read these instructions in their entirety before performing these procedures. If you do not
understand these instructions, arrange to have a qualified person perform these
procedures.
• Discard all printed copies of this document after use. Revised versions may be issued at any
time. Always check ServiceNet for the latest version.
• If your facility is a dual-brand dealership, the dealership configuration must be performed for
each brand. If your facility is a single-brand dealership, the configuration is performed once.
• The procedures specified here must be repeated if ODIS Service is completely uninstalled
and reinstalled, or whenever a replacement ODIS Service security certificate is installed.

2.0 – Procedure
2.1 – Configure Dealership Information
Prerequisites:








VAS diagnostic device with Windows® 7 operating system.
ODIS Service version 2.1.0 or higher installed.
ODIS Service Security Certificate installed as per the Phase 3 instructions
Device connected to A/C power adapter and booted to Windows desktop. Network enabled.
VAS 6160 and VAS 6160A Diagnostic Tablets: USB mouse and keyboard connected.
User has logon access to vwhub, (MSSP role assigned).

Service Information
1. Launch ODIS Service and select the Admin operating mode:
2. Select the Connections tab. The Brand Settings subcategory (left frame) appears by default:

 Single-brand dealership: Skip to Step 3.
 Dual-brand dealership: Select Volkswagen from the brand configuration menu. Click Save / Yes.

3. Select the Group system: ElsaPro subcategory (left frame):
4. Enter information in the fields indicated below as applicable to your market and dealer. When all
information is entered, click Save / Yes:
• Brand (1 character): Enter the numeral 0
• Country (3 characters): Enter USA or CAN
• Dealer ID (5 characters): Enter the last 5 characters of the dealer number

Service Information
 Single-brand dealership: Skip to Step 5.
 Dual-brand dealership: Select the Brand Settings subcategory (left frame) and select Audi from
the brand configuration menu. Click Save / Yes, and then repeat Steps 3 and 4 for Audi.

2.2 – Download and Run the Setup Utility
2.2.1 – Download the Setup Utility
The setup utility is downloaded from ServiceNet as a self-extracting (compressed) file. The file must be
saved to the diagnostic devices’ desktop, and its contents extracted prior to running the setup utility.
1. Use the diagnostic device to Logon to vwhub, and then select ServiceNet.
2. Locate the Infomedia Setup Utility link from either:
a. The Alerts banner, or…
b. Go to: Workshop Equipment > ODIS Service > ODIS Service > Software
3. Right-click the link and Save the file to the Windows desktop.
4. Double-click the 7-Zip file icon on the desktop:

5. Manually type in: Infomedia Setup at the end of the existing path as shown, and then click Extract:

A folder called: Infomedia Setup is placed on the Windows desktop:

The 7-Zip file can be deleted from the desktop if desired. However, we recommend the Infomedia Setup
folder remain on the desktop for future use if necessary, i.e.: when ODIS Service is uninstalled and
reinstalled, or a replacement security certificate is installed.

2.2.2 – Run the Setup Utility
1. Open the Infomedia Setup folder previously created.
2. Double-click Info_setup_Win7:

5. Wait while a brief setup routine runs.
6. When the following confirmation appears, Press any key to end setup:

7. Close all remaining windows.
2.2.3 - Validate the Infomedia Setup
1. Connect the VAS 5054A Transmitter Head to a vehicle Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. Switch on the ignition.
3. Launch ODIS Service and start a diagnostic session.
4. Instead of cancelling the initial Login prompt, enter your vwhub login info and click Apply:

5. When the module scan is complete, select the Info operating mode:
6. Confirm the Infomedia content tabs are active, and select from:

7. When the certificate confirmation prompt appears, click Yes to view the desired content.
