Condition
Some customers may comment on a knocking type noise coming from the engine or
transmission.
Technicians may find during their investigation that the noise appears to be coming from
the back of the engine or the front of the transmission.
Cause
Note: Transmissions with broadcast codes of 21FJ, 2QPJ, 2QRJ and 2ZPJ produced in
calendar year 2022 between Julian dates 175 and 225 are suspect. The Julian date is the
5th, 6th, and 7th digits of the Transmission Unique Number (TUN). Refer to Transmission
Identification in SI for more information.
This condition may be caused by the transmission torque converter.
Correction
Replace the torque converter following published Service Information (SI).

handling, deploying, preparing, classifying,
packaging, marking, labeling, and shipping
dangerous goods. In the event of a conflict between

laws that apply to your dealership, you must follow
those applicable laws.
