CTP Replacement and Initialization
DiagnosticLink® version 8.12 SP2 or later is required to complete this procedure. This procedure cannot be
performed without an internet connection.
IMPORTANT: The loss of an internet connection during installation may result in failure of the CTP
activation.
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down the engine, and set the parking brake. Chock the tires.
2. Follow the steps below based on the components being replaced.
3. Remove the electronics bay cover and the passenger side lower dash cover. For more information, see
Section 60.06 in the New Cascadia Workshop Manual.
4. Remove the vehicle power distribution module (VPDM) from the front of the electronics bay. See Section
54.08, Subject 100 in the New Cascadia Workshop Manual.
5. Disconnect the connectors from the CTP ECU.
6. Press the CTP ECU firmly towards the back of the electronics bay to release the ECU from the forward
mounting slots and then lift the ECU.
7. Remove the CTP ECU from the vehicle.
8. After removing the ECU, mark an ’X’ on the CTP label to identify it as old and to eliminate any chance of
installing the ECU on another vehicle.
9. Position the new CTP ECU in the electronics bay and then press the ECU firmly towards the back of the
shelf. Lower the front of the ECU on to the surface of the shelf and adjust its position horizontally until the
tabs on the ECU are fully seated in the mounting slots.
10. Identify and replace the antenna described in Table 1. Route the cable for each of the antenna using Fig. 1
as a reference. Mounting locations for each antenna being replaced is identified in Fig. 6. Before
installation, clean the antenna mounting area using isopropyl alcohol. Make sure the mounting surface is
completely dry before using the included adhesive foam tape.

11. After mounting all antennas and routing and fastening of the cables, connect each of the antenna ends to
the CTP2 shown in Fig. 2. Each antenna connector is a different color that will match the color on the
CTP2. Color ends aid in making sure each antenna is attached correctly to the CTP2.
12. Connect the 54-Pin connector.
13. Install the VPDM. See Section 54.08, Subject 100 in the New Cascadia Workshop Manual for instructions.
14. Install the electronics bay cover, passenger-side lower dash cover, and top dash cover. See Section 60.06
in the New Cascadia Workshop Manual for instructions.
IMPORTANT: The newly installed CTP must be activated using DiagnosticLink 8.12 SP2 or later
before installation is complete.
15. Turn the ignition switch on.
16. Connect the vehicle to DiagnosticLink 8.12 SP2 or later.
