Summary
According to the Interim Recall Notice Received by Mercedes-Benz
concerning 22V796: "Mercedes-Benz AG has determined that on certain Sprinter vehicles, a component of the park lock system might wear extraordinarily due to specific driver parking practices and impair safe parking of the vehicle. If the vehicle is not properly secured in accordance with parking instructions in the operator's manual (including usage of the parking brake), it cannot be ruled out that the vehicle might roll away from its parked position under certain circumstances. Thus, the risk of an accident could increase. The driver will not receive a warning due to the nature of the failure mechanism. It is important that the driver ensures that the manual parking brake is engaged to adequately secure the vehicle against rolling away. Additionally, the parking level "P" is only to be inserted when the vehicle is completely stationary. The customer can find precise information on the parking process and on correct vehicle securing in their operator manual. Owners who notice any issues with the automatic transmission park lock function may contact their nearest Mercedes-Benz service partner immediately and have an appointment arranged for the vehicle to be inspected."

Forest River is alerting you to a Mercedes Benz Recall 22V796 involving certain 2019-2023 Forester, Sunseeker, Prism,
Isata and Galleria motorized recreational vehicles Please see the information below which describes the issue and
provides you with details on the steps you should take to have your vehicle repaired.

Safety Recall: Automatic Transmission - Park Lock Function
Dear Mercedes-Benz Owner,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. This is to inform you that your
vehicle may contain a defect that could affect the safety of a person.
Mercedes-Benz AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety
exists in certain Model Year 2019-2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles. Mercedes-Benz Canada Inc. has therefore initiated a
voluntary recall of these vehicles. Our records indicate that your vehicle is included in the affected population.
What is the

As a precautionary measure, Mercedes-Benz AG, via its Mercedes-Benz service partners, will update the
software of various control units (among others ESP and transmission control unit) on the affected
vehicles. This service will be provided free of charge.

Rappel de sécurité: Boîte de vitesses automatique – Fonction de cliquet de stationnement
Madame, Monsieur,
Le présent avis vous est envoyé conformément aux exigences de la Loi sur la sécurité automobile. La présente a pour but de vous
informer que votre véhicule est susceptible d’avoir un défaut qui pourrait porter atteinte à la sécurité humaine.
Mercedes-Benz AG, fabricant des véhicules Mercedes-Benz, a constaté une anomalie liée à la sécurité automobile sur certains
véhicules Mercedes-Benz Sprinter de l’année-modèle 2019-2022. Par conséquent, Mercedes-Benz Canada Inc. a décidé de
procéder à un rappel volontaire de ces véhicules. Selon nos dossiers, votre véhicule fait partie des véhicules concernés.
Quel est le
problème?
Mercedes-Benz AG a constaté que, sur certains véhicules Sprinter, un composant du système de
frein de stationnement pourrait s'user plus vite que prévu en raison de pratiques de stationnement
spécifiques et, de ce fait, nuire à la sécurité du stationnement du véhicule. Si le véhicule n'est pas
correctement immobilisé, conformément aux instructions de stationnement du manuel du
propriétaire (y compris les instructions sur l'utilisation du frein de stationnement), dans certaines
circonstances, le risque de déplacement involontaire du véhicule stationné ne peut pas être exclu.
Par conséquent, le risque d'accident pourrait être accru. Le conducteur ne recevra aucun
avertissement en raison de la nature du mécanisme de défaillance. Il est important que le
conducteur s'assure que le frein de stationnement manuel soit engagé pour bien immobiliser le
véhicule afin d'empêcher tout déplacement involontaire. . De plus, le mode de stationnement « P »
ne doit être engagé qu'une fois le véhicule complètement immobilisé. Le client peut trouver des
renseignements précis sur le processus de stationnement et la sécurisation correcte du véhicule
dans le manuel du propriétaire. Les propriétaires qui remarquent des problèmes avec le boîte de
vitesses automatique fonction de cliquet de stationnementpeuvent contacter immédiatement le
service après-vente Mercedes-Benz le plus proche pour prendre rendez-vous afin que le véhicule
soit inspecté.

correctives?
À titre de mesure préventive, Mercedes-Benz AG, par l'entremise de ses partenaires d'entretien,
devra mettre à jour le logiciel des divers modules de commande (notamment du programme de
stabilité électronique et de la boîte de vitesses) sur les véhicules concernés. Ce service sera fourni
sans frais.
