Initial publication

The customer is using an Audi mobile charger:
Using a 110V outlet:
• The outlet is rated at >=15 amps
• The outlet and wiring are installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC, NFPA 70).
• Audi mobile charger needs to be set to 100% charge rate. If it is set to a 50% charge rate, most vehicles will not
charge.
Using a 240V outlet:
• Before using a 240V outlet, the amperage capacity must be known to set the charging rate percentage.
The Mobile Charger can be used at 100% charge rate if the following criteria are met:
• Circuit Breaker: 50 Amp.
• Voltage: Single Phase, 208=240 Volts, 60 Hertz.
• Outlet type: High quality, Industrial Grade NEMA 14-50 receptacle.
• Conductors: 6 AWG recommended, Copper wiring only (Upsized wiring required for installation over 150 feet).
• Weather Protection: Install NEMA 3R (or higher) weather-resistant enclosure.
• Ventilation: Follow local building and electrical codes.
• Service Disconnect: Follow local building and electrical codes.
• Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter: Follow local building and electrical codes.
• The outlet and wiring are installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC, NFPA 70).
The Mobile Charger rate must be set to 50% charge rate if any of the above criteria are not met:
Tip: The Audi mobile charger has “last mode”. This means that the last setting in terms of charge rate will be
used for the next session with each respective outlet, 110V, and 240V.

• For example: If your last session was on a 240V outlet with an amp rating of fewer than 50 amps, and the
charge rate was set at 50% (e.g. charging on the road with limited amperage capability), and the next/current
session is at home on a 240V outlet with a 50 amp outlet, please note that the charge rate needs to be switched
to 100% otherwise, the vehicle will not charge at the rate you are expecting.
Note:
For charging to function under all conditions, make sure any open Campaigns or Service Actions that could affect
charging have been performed (for example 57H3, 93G1, 93L9, 93N6 and 93H6).
How to change the charge rate?
Press button “1” for ~3 seconds,
until the charge rate changes as
desired (Figure 1).
