Reason for this Service Bulletin
Aston Martin has developed more improvements for the weak GPS signal reported on DBX vehicles.
Do the workshop procedure that follows to install a ferrite and foam to the electrical connector for the display screen.
This will reduce interference and improve the Signal Noise Ratio (SNR).

ALL VIN’S BEFORE: V01738 MUST HAVE COMPLETED THE APPLICABLE PROCEDURE THAT FOLLOWS BEFORE

Part A - SNR Check
1.

Drive the vehicle to a clear open area outside, but do not turn the engine off.

2.

In the infotainment menu select “Vehicle” and hold
the rotary selector down for 15 seconds (refer to
Figure 1).

In the “Dealer Menu” scroll down and select
“Diagnose GNSS Antenna” (refer to Figure 2).

4.

Inspect the SNR and record the number shown
(refer to Figure 3).

Part B – Install Ferrite and Foam
5.

Remove the infotainment display screen (refer to Workshop Manual procedure 64.02.BB).

6.

Disconnect the electrical connector for the display
screen (refer to Figure 4).
Connector reference: M41.1

7.

Remove the connector from the housing and check
if the terminal has been reworked (refer to Figure 5).
Note: If > V01738 care must be taken not to lose
the secondary locking device/anti back out feature
(purple) component.
Note: If < V01738 and copper tape is not visible
you must complete the applicable procedure
below before you continue with this procedure:

8.

Install the ferrite to the cable for the display screen
(refer to Figure 6).

9.

Install the connector housing (refer to Figure 6).
Note: Make sure the ferrite is attached no more
than 20mm from the rear of connector housing.

10.

Cut a 3 cm long piece of foam (refer to Figure 7).

Carefully apply the foam around the ferrite (refer to
Figure 8).
Note: Make sure the ferrite is attached close to the
rear of connector housing.

Connect the electrical connector for the display
screen (refer to Figure 9).

Install the infotainment display screen (refer to Workshop Manual procedure 64.02.BB).

Part C - SNR Check and GPS Calibration
14.

Drive the vehicle to a clear open area outside, but do not turn the engine off.

15.

In the infotainment menu select “Vehicle” and hold
the rotary selector down for 15 seconds (refer to
Figure 10).

In the “Dealer Menu” scroll down and select
“Diagnose GNSS Antenna” (refer to Figure 11).

17.

Inspect the SNR, if there is an increase of 3dB – 6dB more than the number recorded in step 4 go to step 18.
Note: To exit the diagnostic screen you must set the ignition to off.

18.

Do a road test of the vehicle with the navigation system active for a minimum of 30 minutes. This is necessary to
calibrate the navigation GPS signal.
