The affected vehicles have been marked with campaign number 0063060000 in AIR.
In order to determine if a specific vehicle is affected by this campaign it will be necessary to verify the
vehicle VIN in AIR (Aftersales Information Research). Based on the response of the system, either proceed
with the repair or take no further action. Please note, open campaigns or vehicle stops may not appear in
DCS Warranty Vehicle Inquiry or sales systems until 24-72 hours after they are announced, therefore AIR is
always the recommended method for determining open campaigns and vehicle stops.
SITUATION
Brackets holding the front LED turn signals are susceptible to rust with exposure to moisture.
CORRECTION
The affected brackets must be replaced with an updated version. The brackets on motorcycles produced
from April 7, 2021 are not affected by this service action.
PROCEDURE
For affected vehicles, this service action must be performed at the next workshop visit. The front turn
indicator brackets must be replaced according to repair instructions "00 60 392 – Replacing front turn
indicator bracket".
PARTS INFORMATION
Obtain and confirm the part numbers for your specific vehicle by entering the chassis number in ETK which
takes into account specific equipment and/or options.
Additional parts like gaskets, hardware and chemicals may be required for the complete repair.

00 60 392 Replacing front turn indicator bracket
Additional work: 46 52 510 Removing and installing the rear-wheel stand special tool (motorcycles without centre
stand)

Removing front turn indicators, left and right
Disconnect connector (1).
Remove bolt (2) and take off turn indicator (3).
Remove front right turn indicator in the same way.

Replacing ball head to front turn indicator
NOTICE
The tabs for the turn indicator on the left and right are
different. Make sure installation is correct!
Bore hole for screw is positioned eccentrically offset to
the rear (in direction of travel).
Carefully clamp tab (1) into vice.
Use vice jaw protectors.
Loosen union nut (2), Caution: left-hand thread!
Remove ball stud (3) and union nut (2) from turn indicator (4).
Turn only on ball head (Torx 25), not on hexagon!
Remove washer (5) and lock washer (6).
Secure new ball stud (3) according to removal to turn
indicator (4).
Tightening torques
Ball stud in turn indicator

Thread-locking compound (micro-encapsulated)

Do not clean thread in turn indicator.
Turn only on ball head (Torx 25), not on hexagon!
Tighten union nut (2) with turn indicator installed and
aligned.

Position turn indicator (1) noting locator (arrow).
Install bolt (2).

Align turn indicator vertically toward the front.
Install right turn indicator in the same way.

Final check of work performed
Check the following:
The work as performed achieved the intended purpose.
All reservoirs and containers have been filled and all fluids and lubricants are at their correct levels.
All threaded fasteners released beforehand have been
correctly retightened.
The fuel system is free of leaks.
The lights and signalling equipment are fully operational
and the vehicle is roadworthy.
The brake pads of the front and rear brakes are bedded
against the brake discs.
Function test, engine start suppression
Check
Select neutral.
Switch on the ignition.
Neutral indicator light "N" lights up.
Select a gear.
Order No.

Neutral indicator light "N" goes out.
Operate the starter switch.
Starter does not operate.
Extend the side stand.
Pull the clutch lever.
Operate the starter switch.
Starter does not operate.
Retract the side stand.
Operate the starter switch without releasing the clutch
lever.
