SITUATION
In very rare instances, only the dipped beams (low beams) may be functional; during that time, other light
functions are no longer available. This low-beam-only behavior represents the fail-safe mode. Fault memory
0xE58C0B is entered as "currently present".
This happens due to a fault in the LIN-Bus communication between basic module and headlight control unit.
This situation is sporadic and cannot be reproduced.
CORRECTION
The fault pattern is corrected with I-level 21-07-500, available summer of 2021.
PROCEDURE
Program affected vehicle with I Level 21-07-500 or above, when it becomes available.
Until this I-level becomes available, follow the steps below to re-establish the LIN bus communication
between the basic module and headlight control unit:
Disconnect the battery
Hold the wiring harness ends together briefly.
