Purpose

Some sensors on the theater seating double tap cupholders may be too sensitive and activated by simple
movement over the cupholders. This document outlines both the procedures for testing the cupholders
and also reprogramming them if needed. Reprogramming reduces sensitivity so that a double tap on the
cupholder is required to activate sensors.

Safety

Read and understand all instructions before installing or operating this product. Adhere to all safety

labels. This manual provides general instructions. Many variables can change the circumstances of the
instructions, i.e., the degree of difficulty, operation and ability of the individual performing the instructions.
This manual cannot begin to plot out instructions for every possibility, but provides the general instructions,
as necessary, for effectively interfacing with the device, product or system. Failure to correctly follow the
provided instructions may result in death, serious personal injury, severe product and/or property damage,
including voiding of the LCI limited warranty.

Test Cupholders

Test the cupholders to make sure they are operating correctly.
1. Open box, remove seating back and set aside.
2. Tip forward the seat base in the box to gain access to the bottom of the base with the power cord

connection.
3. Connect power cord to seat to provide power to the cupholder (Fig. 1).
4. Wave hand over cupholder to make sure the movement doesn't activate cupholder lights. If the
movement activates the lights, proceed to the Reprogramming Procedure section.
If the movement doesn't activate lights, double tap cupholder so it operates in sequence (Fig. 2).
A. First double tap will display a blue light.
B. Second double tap will display a red light.
C. Third double tap will display a light blue light.
D. Fourth double tap will turn off cupholder.

Reprogramming/Replacement Procedures

Remove packing material around cupholder.

Lift out cupholder (Fig. 3) and set aside.

Using a #2 Phillips bit or a Phillips screwdriver, remove the three screws from the cupholder ring (Fig.
4). Save the screws for reinstallation.

Remove cupholder ring (Fig. 5).

5. Plug reprogramming tool into 110V outlet. A solid red light will be displayed to signify the tool is
ready to use (Fig. 6).

Look on the underside of the cupholder ring and locate a black capacitor and a corresponding chip
with a white stripe on it (Fig. 7).

Place the reprogramming tool's clamp on the chip so the arrow on the positive side of the clamp is
positioned facing away from the capacitor (Figs. 8 and 9).
Slightly move the clamp on the chip (Fig. 9) until a solid blue light is displayed on the reprogramming
tool (Fig. 10).
The cupholder ring will flash with rapid blue lights to confirm the new program has been successfully
loaded. After a couple of seconds, remove the reprogramming tool clamp.

NOTE: If the tool does not reprogram the cupholder, the tool may be defective. Try using a different tool.

NOTE: If a different tool does not successfully reprogram the cupholder, replace the ring. Follow the wires
underneath the arm and disconnect the ring (Fig. 11). Plug in the end of the new ring (Fig. 12) and
continue reprogramming the cupholder.

10. Replace ring in seat arm cavity (Fig. 13) while making sure the wires are extended toward the back of

the seat.
11. Secure the cupholder ring by slowly and gently reinstalling the three screws which secure the ring to

the seat arm (Fig. 14).

NOTE: Do not insert screws straight into the seat arm. The screws are angled about 30 degrees when they
are reinstalled (Fig. 14).

12. Replace cupholder.
13. If repackaging box, cover cupholder with packing material and replace seat back on top of the base in

the box. Seal box.
Place orange sticker on box label (Fig. 15) to indicate cupholder has been reprogrammed.
