Dear Forest River Customer:
Forest River is alerting you to a Daimler Trucks North America and Cummins Fuel Rail Equipment recall (FL886) involving
certain 2018 – 2021 Berkshire Class A Motorhome, 2018 – 2021 Dynamax DX3 Class C Motorhome, Dynaquest XL Class
C Motorhome and 2018 – 2021 Force Class C Motorhome recreational vehicles. Please see the information below, which
describes the issue and provides you with details on the steps you should take to have your vehicle repaired.
WHAT IS THE ISSUE?
Cummins states per NHTSA 21E-032, “the fuel rail assembly may develop leaks, which may result in an undetected
prolonged diesel fuel spray.”

FL886 – Cummins Fuel Rail Equipment (Companion Campaign)

This letter is to inform you that Recall FL886 – Cummins Fuel Rail Equipment is a supplier responsible
recall.
Cummins has notified customers and repair locations of the Interim notification regarding Cummins safety
recall C2423 & C2425
Cummins is in the process of securing parts, special tooling and repair instructions. A
second/Final notice will be mailed when parts and tooling are available.
Cummins is advising customers to periodically check the fuel rail for signs of leaking, and seek repairs if
leaks are identified. If a leak occurs, the operator may see or smell diesel fuel and, in some cases, the
check engine lamp may illuminate.
Note for DTNA dealers: Any Interim or Final repair will be completed by Cummins Distributors and
authorized Warranty Dealers. This ICI letter is for your information should the dealership get any
questions. For your reference, a copy of the Cummins owner notice, with French translation, concerning
Cummins safety recall C2423 & C2425 is on the following pages.

Cette lettre a pour but de vous informer que le rappel FL886 – Cummins Fuel Rail Equipment est
un rappel responsable du fournisseur.
Cummins a informé les clients et les centres de réparation de la notification provisoire concernant
le rappel de sécurité Cummins C2423 et C2425
Cummins est en train de sécuriser les pièces, l'outillage spécial et les instructions de
réparation. Un deuxième/dernier avis sera envoyé par la poste lorsque les pièces et
l'outillage seront disponibles.
Cummins conseille aux clients de vérifier périodiquement la rampe d'injection pour détecter tout

Dear Cummins Customer:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
This is to inform you that your vehicle may contain a defect that could affect the safety of a
person.
Cummins is conducting a recall involving certain Cummins L9 and ISX12 engines manufactured
between January 2, 2017 and October 16, 2020 installed in buses, school buses, emergency
vehicles and recreational vehicles. This notice applies to your engines in the vehicles listed on
the enclosed table.
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
The fuel rail assembly may develop leaks, which may result in an undetected prolonged diesel
fuel spray. A leak involving spraying/misting fuel in the presence of an ignition source may
increase the risk of fire.
WHAT WILL CUMMINS DO?
Cummins is currently developing the permanent remedy for this issue. You will receive a second
notification to inform you when the final remedy is available and to provide instructions to
schedule the recall for your engine.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
In the meantime, Cummins advises you to periodically check the fuel rail for signs of leaking and
seek repairs if leaks are identified. If a leak occurs, the operator may see or smell diesel fuel and,
in some cases, the check engine lamp may illuminate.
Vehicle lessors receiving this recall notice are required by law to forward a copy of this notice and
any subsequent notices to the lessee within ten (10) days.

Le présent avis vous est envoyé conformément aux exigences de la Loi sur la sécurité
automobile.
La présente a pour but de vous informer que votre véhicule est susceptible d’avoir un défaut qui
pourrait porter atteinte à la sécurité humaine.
Cummins effectue le rappel de certains moteurs Cummins L9 et ISX12 fabriqués entre le 2
janvier 2017 et le 16 octobre 2020 et qui équipent les autocars urbains, les autobus scolaires, les
véhicules d’urgence et les véhicules récréatifs. Cet avis s’applique aux moteurs des véhicules
figurant dans le tableau ci-joint.
QUEL EST LE PROBLÈME?
Il est possible que des fuites surviennent dans la rampe d’alimentation. Ces fuites pourraient faire
en sorte que le jet de carburant diesel soit de plus longue durée, sans que ce phénomène ne
puisse être détecté. Du carburant pulvérisé ou un panache de carburant provenant d’une fuite
qui entre en contact avec une source d’allumage représente un risque de feu.
QUELLE SERA LA RÉPONSE DE CUMMINS?
Cummins travaille actuellement à mettre au point une solution permanente à ce problème. Vous
recevrez un deuxième avis qui vous indiquera le moment où une solution définitive sera offerte et
qui vous donnera aussi des instructions pour procéder au rappel de votre moteur.
QUE DEVEZ-VOUS FAIRE?
D’ici là, Cummins vous recommande d’effectuer une vérification périodique de la rampe
d’alimentation pour y détecter tout signe de fuite et pour pouvoir effectuer les réparations
nécessaires, le cas échéant. Si des fuites surviennent, il est possible que l’opérateur voie la
présence de carburant diesel ou qu’il perçoive son odeur et, dans certaines circonstances, il est
possible que le voyant de vérification du moteur. Les ailleurs de véhicules qui reçoivent le
présent avis de rappel doivent en faire suivre une copie aux locataires, ainsi qu’une copie de tout
avis subséquent, dans un délai de dix (10) jours.
