TITLE: Vehicle Recovery Cap Retention Remedy
PURPOSE: A service tip for loose a recovery cap on the front fascia.
On inspection a Revero GT and GTS or GS-6 this communication will provide a solution to increase the
fastening tension of the vehicle recovery cap. The cap may be missing or have been previously replaced.
If the cap is still secured remove it as instructed in this bulletin. see the VIN list in this document to verify the
vehicle has had this remedy applied.
Should the vehicle be presented without a cap inspect the Front fascia from the underside, as the cap may have
fallen into the area. When retrieved, follow the directions below to secure the part. If the part is not found, order
part C131172800302 as needed from Karma
Automotive.
Place a temporary piece of tape as an anchor on the cap as shown in (Fig 1).
Apply pressure to the bottom portion of the cap to pop it out (Fig 2).
As the cap rotates (Fig 3) use the tape to assist in guiding the cap out to remove safely from the front fascia the
remove the recovery cap.
Set the cap on a clean surface and remove the anchoring tape.

Use a felt tape for the following procedure.
Source this locally, felt wire loom tape if none is available. This is available on-line and at most auto
parts stores (Fig 4a and Fig 4b).

The existing or new cover (fig 5a and fig 5b)will now have the tabs wrapped with the felt tape.
Cut small strips to wrap these tabs neatly providing one or two layers of the tape on each tab (fig 6a
and fig 6b). This should not be too thick so as to cause too great an effort on installation. Installation is
the reverse of removal.
