Cool Bag

Information:

The cool bag has a capacity of 12.7 quarts (12 liters) and keeps food and drink in the vehicle cool. The
fastening system, which is patented by Porsche, secures the cool bag in the luggage compartment
( Figure 1).
It is powered by the 12-volt vehicle electrical system. The cool bag is also equipped with discharge
protection for car batteries with an insufficient battery charge or low open-circuit voltage.

A few words on technology:

State-of-the-art Peltier technology (thermoelectric cooling system).
Cooling system is CFC-free and does not use any polluting coolants.
Additional internal fan ensures optimum cooling distribution in the cooling chamber.
Interior is made of plastic that is suitable for foodstuffs and easy to clean.
Operates perfectly at every normal angle of inclination, thus offering significant advantages over
conventional compressor or absorption cooling units.

Pre-cooled food and drink are kept refreshingly cool using very little power.
For short-term use, only store pre-cooled food and drink.
Cooling warm food and drink takes about twice as long as in conventional household refrigerators
and can take up to 12 hours, depending on the volume of goods to be cooled.
The strong foam insulation keeps food and drink cool for a long time, even without electrical cooling
capacity.
Position the cool bag in such a way that the air from the external fan can circulate freely.
Do not place the cool bag in direct sunlight or in an overheated luggage compartment as this will
reduce the cooling capacity substantially.
The cool bag is not suitable for commercial continuous operation.

Continually switching the cool bag on and off or switching the engine on and off will reduce the
service life of the cooling system.
If the cool bag is permanently connected to the vehicle electrical system, we recommend that you
activate the battery monitor, which will prevent an exhaustive discharge of your vehicle battery.

Cleaning and care:

The cool bag is maintenance-free.
Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.
Protect the cooling unit from sand, dust, dirt and moisture.
Never clean the cool bag under running water or immerse it in water!

Information
The cool bag can be set up on the left or right side of the luggage compartment, depending on where the
12 V receptacle plug sockets are.
After fitting the cool bag, the front pocket should still be accessible!
Work Procedure: 1

Preparatory work:
1.1

Unpack the cool bag and read the information
about the cool bag.

1.2

Open the rear lid of the vehicle.

1.3

Unclip the support belt on the cool bag at
both ends.

1.4

Remove belt with belt tongue and belt lock
( Figure 3 ) from the front pocket on the
cool bag.

CAUTION
Insufficient air circulation around the external fan

Always ensure that the external fan is not covered by the luggage or load.

Information
When fixing the cool bag in place using the telescopic rod, make sure there is a sufficient gap
between the base of the telescopic rod and the cooling fins on the cool bag ( Figure 5, -X-).
2.1

Lashing point version (vehicles without
loadspace management system [I-no. 3GN])
2.1.1

Unclip belt with both spring hooks.

2.1.2

Depending on the installation
position of the cool bag, clip the
spring hook on the relevant belt
(using the belt tongue or belt lock)
into the relevant lashing point (at the
front or back, or at the left or right
side in the luggage compartment)
from above ( Figure 4 -A-).

2.1.3

Extend both belts on the cool bag to
their full length.

2.1.4

Place the cool bag in the luggage
compartment and clip both belts
(one with the belt lock and the
other with the belt tongue) into the
relevant belts on the cool bag.

2.2.1

Slide telescopic rod into the
rear-most position towards the rear
lid.

2.2.2

Place cool bag in the luggage
compartment behind the upright
rear-seat backrest.
Information
When fixing the cool bag in place
using the telescopic rod, make sure
there is a sufficient gap between

Open the cool bag and switch on the battery
monitor ( Figure 7 -arrow-).
The battery monitor is active even when the
ignition is switched off. This is apparent from
the green LED, which lights up on the monitor.
