Fit retaining strap on new fuel tank cap.
2.1

Fit retaining strap  Figure 4 -1- into the
groove as shown  Figure 4 -arrow a-.

2.2

Press retaining strap into the groove with your
thumb  Figure 4 -arrows-.

Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.

Use suction to remove ignitable vapors.



Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.

Remove old fuel tank cap (shown with retaining strap for Cayenne).
3.1

Open the filler flap on the vehicle.

3.2

Carefully pull the retaining strap  Figure
5 -1- down  Figure 5 -arrow a- and then
swivel the ring up over the retaining pivot 
Figure 5 -arrow b-.

3.3

Unscrew old fuel tank cap from the filler neck.

Fit new fuel tank cap on the vehicle (shown with
retaining strap for Cayenne).
4.1

Position small ring  Figure 6 -1- on the
retaining pivot  Figure 6 -2-, pull it down
carefully and guide it over the retaining pivot.

4.2

Fit new fuel tank cap on the filler neck and
screw it on.

Affix sticker (warning note)  Figure 7 -arrow- to the
filler flap.
5.1

Clean bonding position with a cleaning cloth
and isopropanol to remove any dust and
grease.

5.2

Affix sticker.
