Sedans - M156 and M157 - MY20-21: Incorrect amount of Refrigerant Gas
Maserati MY20 and MY21 Sedans in the attached list (and in ModisCS+) are involved in a Service

Campaign to correct the amount of refrigerant gas in the HVAC system.

This update is needed to correct the amount of refrigerant gas in the A/C system to ensure that the

climate control operates correctly and efficiently.
Note: This campaign is not related to any faults in the circuit (such as leaks), but because there’s the

possibility that an incorrect amount of gas was installed into the system during vehicle production. The

amount may be higher or lower than the correct value.
Procedures:

1. Check in ModisCs+ to see if the vehicle is involved in this campaign and whether or not it has

been previously performed.

2. Connect the refrigerant gas recycling equipment* following procedure 08.40.000

DRAINING/FILLING THE A.C. SYSTEM
published in the Tech DOC Workshop Manual.
*The steps specified in this procedure can be performed with various types of equipment and therefore

using different operating methods. Refer to the “technical use and maintenance manual” for the

equipment model being used.
3. Evacuate the system completely. (Keep a record of the amount removed)

4. Check in the Campaign 420 – VIN List.xls file published in MODIS CS+ and attached at the end

of this Bulletin for the following:


Check the Gas Type in Column M – GAS TYPE.

Check the correct amount to fill the system to in Column N - Project DATA.

Only the missing amount of gas will be reimbursed under warranty (DELTA (gr) Column).
The project data related to the correct amount

of gas is given in Column N
5. Refill the air conditioning system with the correct amount of gas.

6. The Campaign is complete.
Spare Parts Required


In cases identified as Higher Amount (Column P - DEFECT), the amount of gas in the circuit is

higher than specified in the project data. Therefore, recover all of the gas and do not request

a reimbursement under warranty for the refrigerant.

In the cases identified as Lower Amount (Column P - DEFECT), reimbursement can only be

requested for the amount of gas specified in Column Q (DELTA (gr)).

The reimbursement for this amount must be managed in Sublet, using the values in the Table

for Europe to calculate the total value.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: In some markets, the purchase price of refrigerant gas could be significantly higher

than the above table values.

To request a refund higher than the values indicated in this bulletin, it will be necessary to attach a copy of

the local Gas purchase invoice to the claim.

In the cases identified as Missing DATA (Column P - DEFECT), the readings on the draining

and filling of the recycling machine must be attached to the claim.

The reimbursement for this amount must be managed in Sublet, using the values in the Table

to calculate the total value.
