Supply chain shortage notice. Model Year 2022 Freightliner
, Western Star, Freightliner Custom Chassis, and Thomas Built Bus vehicles manufactured with the following engines have been built without a Particulate Matter (PM)/Soot sensor: •DD15 Gen 5 (Gats 2.0) (with a June 2021 or later GHG build date) •DD13 Gen4 (1-box) (with a June 2021 or later GHG build date) •Cummins B6.7 (with a June 2021 or later GHG build date) •Cummins X15 with ratings of 400-500HP (with a June 2021 or later GHG build date) As a result, the vehicle has a non-conforming On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) system. The engine manufacturers will pay to install the OBD PM sensor and corresponding software through a recall once sensors become available.

Dear Customer:
Model Year 2022 Freightliner, Western Star, Freightliner Custom Chassis, and Thomas Built
Bus vehicles manufactured with the following engines have been built without a Particulate
Matter (PM)/Soot sensor:
•DD15 Gen 5 (Gats 2.0) (with a June 2021 or later GHG build date)
•DD13 Gen4 (1-box) (with a June 2021 or later GHG build date)
•Cummins B6.7 (with a June 2021 or later GHG build date)
•Cummins X15 with ratings of 400-500HP (with a June 2021 or later GHG build date)
As a result, the vehicle has a non-conforming On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) system. The
engine manufacturers will pay to install the OBD PM sensor and corresponding software
through a recall once sensors become available.
Please note, the vehicle cannot be operated in the State of California nor elsewhere in the
United States if the owner fails to get the recall performed once it is available.
