Scheduled Maintenance Chart and Spoked Wheels
Models affected:
Tiger Explorer and Tiger Explorer XC
Scheduled Maintenance Chart
The scheduled maintenance chart for the above model has been updated to include the following:
•
Wheels - check wheels for damage or broken spokes and check spoke tightness.
•
Final drive oil - check.
Attached as appendix A is the revised scheduled maintenance chart.
Spoked Wheels
The Tiger Explorer is now equipped with either cast or spoked wheels.
The Tiger Explorer XC will be equipped with spoked wheels, hand guards, sump guard, engine guards and fog lights.
The tyre options and tyre pressures for both types of wheel are the same as described in the Owner Handbook and
Service Manual.

Warning
In order to correctly carry out the adjustment or replacement of the wheel spokes, special tools and specialist knowledge
will be required.
Only carry out adjustment or replacement of wheel spokes if you have the necessary special tools and specialist
knowledge required to do so.
Incorrect fitment or adjustment of the wheel spokes may cause the wheel rim to be misaligned with the hub which may
result in loss of motorcycle control and an accident.
Warning
Do not install tube-type tyres on tubeless rims. The bead will not seat and the tyres could slip on the rims, causing rapid
tyre deflation that may result in a loss of vehicle control and an accident. Never install an inner tube inside a tubeless
tyre. This will cause friction inside the tyre and the resulting heat build-up may cause the tube to burst resulting in rapid
tyre deflation, loss of vehicle control and an accident.
•
The spoked wheels on this model are not fitted with an inner tube and the tyres are marked TUBELESS. Use only
tubeless tyres on these spoked wheels.
•
In accordance with the scheduled maintenance chart, when checking the tyre for damage, also check for loose or
damaged spokes. Renew/tighten spokes as necessary.
The following are the same for the spoked or cast wheels, as described in the Service Manual:
•
Rear wheel nut torque.
•
Front wheel spindle torque.
•
Removal and installation of the front and rear wheels.
•
Removal and installation of the seals and bearings.
Please mark your copy of the Service Manual with this information. The Service Manual will be updated in
the near future.
