Hello everybody
| have a case in the workshop where the engine does not start without the bleed machine.
After reviews | observed contamination with metal in the fuel module. Disassemble and check
the low pressure pump, observing excessive wear on its parts.
My query is that the manuals do not show this type of failure and which components must be
renewed if this occurs. My personal opinion is that | have to renew low pressure pump, fuel
module and filters. | have no problems in the high pressure system.
Someone has had this experience and can guide me.

| would follow the “Metal in Fuel”. It’s under fluid contamination in the troubleshooting manual.
If it does not already have a Davco fuel filter installed, one will need to be installed.

Sadly more parts and labor involved. Get on PSL and check troubleshooting section section 12
- contaminated fluids-metal in the fuel system.
You need to clean entire fuel system. That's coming from high pressure fuel pump. Need to
replace complete fuel pump, filters module, high pressure fuel rail feed lines, high pressure
flange, frame-mounted filter (if not equipped one will need to be installed)
. Flush all fuel lines and galleries , doser supply line wash out fuel tanks. Or you will be dealing
with same damage later again.
