SITUATION:
A sharp edge underneath the rear bumper may be evident.
CAUSE:
This may be caused by the design of the rear bumper exhaust system heatshield.
ACTION:
Should a customer express this concern, follow the Workshop Procedure below.

locally sourced aluminum tape, breakstem fasteners, and solvent cleaner. Claim using Sundry
Code ‘ZZZ001’.

Remove the rear bumper (see TOPIx Workshop Manual section 501-19: Bumpers - Removal
and installation - Rear bumper).

Using a suitable solvent cleaner, prepare the bottom edge of the exhaust heatshield for the
self adhesive aluminum tape.

Install aluminum tape to the bottom edge of the heatshield.
Fold the self adhesive aluminum over the edge of the heatshield.
Press the tape firmly to make sure it adheres fully.

Use care to not damage muffler or other components.

Measure and mark 10 positions 50 mm apart along the edge of the tape.
Using a 3.3 mm drill, make a hole at each mark.

Install one (1) 3.2 mm breakstem fastener into each of the 10 holes made in step 3 to secure
the tape.

Repeat steps 2-5 to the rear bumper exhaust system left heatshield.

Install the rear bumper (see TOPIx Workshop Manual section 501-19: Bumpers - Removal and
installation - Rear bumper).
