SITUATION:
The underhood lower Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH) pads and dirty air duct guides may
show signs of ripping, tearing, and/or has a poor finish.
CAUSE:
This may be caused by ice build up between the foam surfaces and the hood, causing
penetration into the foam.
ACTION:
Should a customer express this concern, follow the appropriate Workshop Procedure -- 'A' or
'B' -- below.

Remove and discard the underhood lower right-hand Noise Vibration Harshness
(NVH) pad.

Use a suitable degreaser to clean the area.

CAUTIONS:
◾ To avoid cross-contamination (galvanic corrosion), this must be carried out
using either a new unused drill bit or an aluminum-repair-only drill bit.
A Zinc-rich primer must be applied to any bare metal surfaces after drilling.
NOTES:
◾ Perform this step to both sides of the vehicle.
◾ Cleanliness is important to avoid galvanic corrosion.
◾ Make sure any swarf is removed/cleaned away.
