with Geotab. These applications can transmit data from their hardware through the Geotab
GO device utilizing the Third Party CAN (Controller Area Network) protocol on Geotab’s
private CAN bus via the IOX-CAN. Once data is sent in the predefined format, it will be
saved and sent to MyGeotab as Engine Status Data—no initial handshake is required. The
IOX-CAN also provides power to the third party device allowing the third party device to
stay on after the ignition is turned off.
