AFFECTED VEHICLES
Vehicles which require this Campaign to be completed will show it as “Open” when checked either in AIR,
the "Service Menu" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System), ISPA Next or Warranty Vehicle Inquiry.

SITUATION
BMW AG has issued a Delivery Stop (effective June 5, 2020) on a small number of Model Year 2020 BMW
3 Series vehicles that were produced on March 25, 2020 and March 26,2020. The wiring harness from the
Body Domain Controller (BDC) to the hotel setting switch is missing.
Do not deliver to a customer, a New, Certified Pre-Owned or Used vehicle subject to a Delivery Stop,
until the vehicle is repaired. Do not use or sell replacement equipment/parts subject to a Delivery
Stop.

CAUSE
The wire from the Body Domain Controller (BDC) to the wiring harness connector leading to the hotel
position switch is missing.

CORRECTION
Install the wiring harness for the hotel position switch.
Special tools: 94018 or 89090

PROCEDURE
Use 2 wires P/N 61 13 0 056 962 (already assembled with the contact pins installed).
Important: Mark one (1) of the two (2) wires with a permanent marker at each end near the pin. Since
both wires are the same color, this will help identify each wire and assist in preventing them from
being crossed during installation.

Remove the passenger-side A-pillar trim panel according to the repair instructions (61 035 278)
to gain access to the BDC connector A258*7B.
Remove the glove compartment lid according to the repair instructions (51 16 376) to gain
access to connector X673*1B which leads to the hotel position switch.
1. Open the connector A258*7B with tool 94018 or 89090.
2. Insert one end of the previously marked wire into chamber 52 and one end of the other wire (not marked)
into chamber 51. Close the connector.

3. Open the connector X673*1B with tool 94018 or 89090.
4. Insert the other end of the previously marked wire into chamber 1 and one end of the other wire (not
marked) into chamber 2. Close the connector again.

Route and fasten the wiring harness such that no chafe marks can develop as seen below. Wrap in
adhesive tape and secure any extra wire length.

5. Check the function of hotel position switch.
6. Reassemble the vehicle again according to the repair instructions.
