This is to revise and replace Campaign 2290, dated 06-Mar-20. This revision is to:
1. Update the Description, and
2. update Step 3 in the Action list.

Description
This In-Shop Campaign is being issued to address potential high levels of engine out smoke on
certain MY 15 ISB6.7 CM2350 B101 engines. This In-Shop Campaign authorizes certified repair
locations to remove, clean and reinstall the EGR Valve, cleaning of the Intake Air Connection
Exhaust Gas Entrance Ports, and upgrade the ECM calibration. While this campaign is only to be
performed once, it can be performed during regularly scheduled maintenance or other repairs.
There are certain restrictions on reimbursement.

Note : This In-Shop Campaign does not reimburse for any SRTs except those that are
listed. It is recommended, but not required, that this Field Action be performed as part
of another Cummins warrantable repair event to allow reimbursement for charges such
as travel, troubleshooting, or access issues that are outside the scope of this document.
Note : This field action provides retroactive coverage for repairs made on or after 10
February 2020, in anticipation of and prior to the release of this publication.

1. will be covered Regardless of coverage status, and
2. must show as OPEN on QuickServe® Online for this field action.

Note : The ESN list is attached for reference.
After verifying that the engine meets the above requirements, perform the following actions:
1. Use the ECM Calibration Revision History available on QuickServe® Online to confirm the
revision date of the calibration currently installed in the engine. If ECM already contains the
most recent calibration revision, DO NOT recalibrate the engine, continue the additional repair
instructions. File a claim including 17-902 Campaign Check.
2. If a previous revision is installed, download the latest calibration available on QuickServe®
Online. Recalibrate the ECM with calibration revisions released on 16 DECEMBER 2019 or
later. To obtain a calibration via QuickServe® Online (QSOL), click on the "Service" tab, then
"Related Information", then click on the "Calibration Downloads" link and enter the requested
information to obtain a Zip file to recalibrate the ECM. Recalibrate the ECM as described in
Procedure 019-032 in the appropriate Service Manual on QSOL.
3. Remove and Clean the EGR valve per procedure 011-022 EGR valve in Service Manual
2883567. While the EGR valve is removed, use a safety solvent intended for use on aluminum
components (ex. carburetor cleaner) and a non-abrasive brush to clean the two Intake Air
Connection Exhaust Gas Entrance Ports. Attachment B shows a picture of these ports. The
Intake Air Connection does NOT need to be removed.

Material Disposition
Where applicable, items removed should be returned to ReCon for core credit. Unless otherwise
indicated, items with no core liability can be scrapped.

Note : Select ONLY the appropriate SRTs for the repair performed. Claim ONLY SRT
19-611 if the unit DID require an updated calibration. Only SRT 17-902 (Campaign
Check) should be claimed if the unit DID NOT require calibration. All units are eligible
for the EGR Valve Cleaning, regardless of calibration work.
