Issue: Some 2020 Escape/Corsair vehicles equipped with a 1.5L/2.0L/2.3L EcoBoost engine and built on
or before 15-Nov-2019 may exhibit a fuel gauge that does not move and/or diagnostic trouble code (DTC)
P144F in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to the fuel tank assembly. To correct the
condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to replace the fuel tank.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the
following criteria:
• 2020 Escape/Corsair
• Built on or before 15-Nov-2019
• 1.5L/2.0L/2.3L EcoBoost engine
• Fuel gauge does not move and/or DTC P144F
NOTE: Part quantity refers to the number of that service part number required, which may be
different than the number of individual pieces. Service part numbers contain 1 piece unless
otherwise stated. "As Needed" indicates the part is required but the number may vary or is not a
whole number; parts can be billed out as non-whole numbers, including less than 1.

Service Procedure
1. Replace the fuel tank. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 310-01A/310-01B.
2. Transfer the fuel pump and sender unit from the old to the new fuel tank. Refer to WSM, Section 31001A.
3. Transfer any other remaining parts from the old to new fuel tank.
