New Online Technical Documentation functions

Please note that the latest update to the Online Technical Documentation has introduced a number
of new functions and a new graphic interface for the Spare Parts Catalog, S.T. Schedule and
Workshop Manual intended to make the content more intuitive and effective to navigate and use.
Spare Parts Catalog, S.T. Schedule - View by Functional Group
The Spare Parts Catalog and S.T. Schedule now include the option of viewing the table index
organized by functional groups. Press the icon (A) to switch from List view mode to Functional
Group view mode.

This changes the layout of the table index as shown below, allowing the user to visually identify the
functional group required.

Once Functional Group display mode is used, the drop-down menu (B) may be used to change
quickly from one functional group to another – Fig. 2.

Spare Parts Catalog and S.T. Schedule - Search function in List view mode
Three new search fields have been introduced in the List table index view mode (in either the Spare
Parts Catalog or the S.T. Schedule), which may be used to filter search results by “Group) (C),
“Table No" (D) or “Description” (E) in order to find the required content more quickly – Fig.3.
Use these search fields to only view tables containing the keywords entered – Fig.4.

Spare Parts Catalog and S.T. Schedule - New graphic layout for tables
The table layout used in both the Spare Parts Catalog and the S.T. Schedule has been modified to
simplify navigation and offer the user a clearer view of the overall content of tables, as shown below
(Fig.5):
(F): area displaying drawing and part reference numbers for selected table;
(G): area displaying parts list of selected table;
(H): table index area. Click to expand the index and select a different table.

The area (F) also includes the following function buttons (Fig.6):
(I): Expand parts list to fill entire window. Press the button again to return to the standard view
mode;
(L): Go to next table (press button with arrow in opposite direction to go to previous table).
(M): Expand table to fill entire window. Press

button to return to the standard view mode;

Spare Parts Catalog and S.T. Schedule - New information icons
A number of new icons have been introduced in the parts list window to notify the user of any notes
relative to validity available for a specific spare part (Fig.7) or labor code (Fig.8). Moving the cursor
over these icons displays a pop-up window containing the relative information.

All the icons possible and the relative meanings are indicated in the following table:
S.T. Schedule

Spare Parts Catalog
Indicates that additional notes are available for
this spare part.

Opens the operations tree for the selected LC.

Information relative to validity according to
market

Indicates for which configuration variants the
selected LC is applicable.

Information relative to validity according to
assembly number

Indicates that the time specified for the selected
LC is calculated for the operation starting from
the complete vehicle.

Information relative to validity according to
engine number

Indicates that the time specified for the selected
LC is calculated for the component on the work
bench.

Information relative to validity according to
gearbox number

Generates and sends an email requesting
calculation of missing LC.

Indicates that the spare part has been replaced
by a component with a different part number

Once a spare part (Fig. 9) or labor code (Fig. 10) is selected, all additional information available is
displayed in complete form and the item may be added to the shopping cart.

Spare Parts Catalog – References in table to multiple part numbers
In cases where the reference selected in the table is associated with more than one part number in
the part list (e.g. where different part numbers are applicable for different assembly numbers), the
system highlights the respective spare parts in the list in pink (P) and prompts the user to select the
component effectively required (Q) – Fig.11.

Workshop Manual – Procedure search function
A new search field (R) has been introduced to let the user filter the search results to locate an
operating procedure in the Workshop Manual more rapidly – Fig. 12.

When this search field is used, the system will only display
procedures matching the keyword entered – Fig.13.

Workshop Manual – Switch rapidly between two linked procedures
A procedure may contain links to certain preliminary operations necessary for the procedure itself. In
these cases, the manual displays a link (S, Fig. 14) for accessing the relative paragraph directly. If the
user clicks this link to open the relative operation, a link will always be displayed in the foreground
for going back to the original procedure (T, Fig. 15).

Workshop Manual – Preview contained in steps
The individual steps into which the procedure is subdivided are represented by indicator bars at the
bottom of the 3D drawing illustrating the operations necessary. Moving the cursor over one of these
steps displays a pop-up window (U) containing a description of the step itself – Fig.16.

This lets the operator preview the next or previous operations in the procedure without leaving the
step currently viewed.
