Dear Dealers,
Ongoing product quality testing and field reports have identified a potential for the threaded
fastening pins of passenger pedals on both right and left sides to loosen, on the above listed
models.
All vehicles involved in this Service Campaign must be updated by improving the fastening
system with the application of high-resistance sealant LOCTITE 648 along the thread of the
fastening pins of passenger pedals.

Customer Impact
All motorcycles in your inventory (to be registered or already registered) and to be delivered to
final Customers must be updated during pre-delivery operations and always before delivery to
the final Customer. All motorcycles already delivered to final Customers must undergo this
inspection as soon as they come to your workshop. Note: this is NOT a safety recall.
Parts Distribution
No additional spare parts are required to perform the update. The Loctite 648 is available
from local vendors.
Warranty reimbursement rules
The reimbursement to implement the update CR187 will be issued through the standard
warranty claim procedure via the DCS. The above-described procedure has been coded as
follows:

WARNING
To ensure the correct execution of the operation within the provided labor time to
carry out the updates, it is necessary to follow the sequence indicated in the
following instructions
1. Position the bike on the rear paddock stand
NOTE
Below is the update procedure valid for the RH side passenger pedal, repeat the same
procedure for the LH side passenger pedal.
2. Remove the special pin (1) fastening the passenger pedal (2)
WARNING
During the pedal removal, also remove the ball (3), the spring (4) and the washer (5)

3. Thoroughly clean the special pin, the spring, the ball and the washer to remove grease and
impurities
4. Position the ball (3) in the special seat on the pedal support plate and insert the spring (4)
in the relevant hole of the pedal (2) using grease Shell Retinax HD2 or AGIP GR PV2 (or
equivalent) to keep the parts in place
5. Apply grease Shell Retinax HD2 or AGIP GR PV2 (or equivalent) on the collar of the special
pin (1), making sure no grease is applied to the thread
6. Insert the special pin (1) in the relevant hole of the pedal (2) and fit the washer (5) onto
the projection of the pin
NOTE
Washer (5) must be positioned with sharp edge side facing the pedal support plate,
and rounded side towards the pedal.
7. Apply LOCTITE 648 on threaded projection of special pin (1)
8. Fit the pedal (2) onto the plate, aiming the latter as shown in the figure, and tighten the
special pin to 24 Nm ±10%

9. Check that the passenger pedal moves freely after installation
10. Use the same update procedure for the passenger pedal on the left side, repeating the
operations from point (2) to point (9).
11. Remove the bike from the rear paddock stand
