Repair Instructions
NOTE: Vehicles equipped with US2017 emission compliant engines have two NOx sensors, one that measures NOx
level before the exhaust enters the Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) unit and one that measures NOx level after
the exhaust leaves the SCR. This procedure is for both NOx sensor and control module locations.
NOx Sensor, Replacement (KS1)
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface with the steering wheel in the straight ahead position.

Apply the parking brake.
Place the transmission in neutral or park.
Install the wheel chocks.
Disconnect the cable from the battery's negative terminal.
Remove the cable ties. Note: Mark the position and number.

7. Remove the screws.
8. Remove the plate.

9. Disconnect the connector.
10. Remove the screws.
11. Remove the control unit.

12. Disconnect the connector.

13. Repack the defective component(s) before returning for warranty evaluation. Note: Take care when handling
fragile components, such as sensors.
14. Connect the connector.

15. Torque tighten the sensor. Sensor, flange nut: 50 ±10 Nm (37 ±7 lbf‫ڄ‬ft)

16. Connect the connector.
17. Install the control unit.
18. Install the screws.

23. Connect the battery cable to negative (ground) terminal. Delete DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) according to the
diagnostic tool (Premium Tech Tool) instructions.

7. Install the cable ties. Conditions: The bend radius of the cable must not be less than the specified value. Cable,
radius: •PP • in)

8. Position the fairing.
9. Connect the lanyard.
10. Latch the fairing.

11. Connect the battery cable to negative (ground) terminal.
12. Delete DTC according to the diagnostic tool (Premium Tech Tool) instructions.
13. Remove the wheel chocks.

Instrucciones de reparación
NOTA: Los vehículos equipados con motores que cumplen las emisiones US2010 y posteriores tienen dos sensores
de NOx, uno que mide el nivel de NOx antes de que el escape ingrese a la unidad de Reducción catalítica selectiva
(SCR) y otro que mide el nivel de NOx después de que el escape sale de SCR. Este procedimiento es para ambas
ubicaciones del módulo de control y sensor de NOx.

Estacione el vehículo en una superficie plana con el volante en posición recta.
Aplique el freno de estacionamiento.
Ponga la transmisión en neutro o estacionamiento.
Instale los bloqueos de las ruedas.
Desconecte el cable desde el terminal negativo de la batería.

6. Retire las correas. Nota: Marque la posición y el número.

7. Retire los tornillos.
8. Retire la placa.

9. Fije los seguros.
10. Retire los tornillos.
11. Retire la unidad de control.

8. Coloque el compensador.
9. Conecte la amarra.
10. Asegure el compensador.

11. Conecte el cable de batería al terminal negativo (tierra).
12. Elimine DTC de acuerdo con las instrucciones de la herramienta de diagnóstico (Premium Tech Tool).
13. Retire los bloqueos de las ruedas.
