SUBJECT:

REAR WASHER NOZZLE IMPROVEMENT

This bulletin provides the procedure to install an in-line washer fluid check valve on some
2020MY Telluride (ON) vehicles produced from April 1, 2019 through October 28, 2019, in
order to improve a condition where the rear glass washer nozzle may leak after use. Follow the
procedure outlined in this bulletin to install the in-line check valve to decrease washer fluid
leaking from the rear nozzle.

REAR WASHER NOZZLE IMPROVEMENT

Installation Procedure:
1. Using a plastic trim tool, carefully unclip
the two (2) rear outer spoiler trim pieces
from the rear tailgate.

 NOTICE
DO NOT attempt to remove the
two (2) spoiler side trim pieces
as they are secured to the top of
the rear spoiler from the inside.

Open the tailgate and using a trim tool,
remove the center upper tailgate trim (A).

Disconnect the rear washer fluid hose
(B) and disconnect the rear 3rd brake
lamp connector (C).

4.

Remove the five (5) rear spoiler retaining
bolts (D).

Close the rear tail gate door.

REAR WASHER NOZZLE IMPROVEMENT

Carefully remove the rear spoiler trim
assembly and place the rear spoiler on
top of a table or stand.

 NOTICE
If placing on a table, be sure to
use a cloth underneath to
protect the paint.

7.

Carefully turn the rear spoiler trim
assembly upside down on top of a work
table or stand.

 NOTICE
The stand shown has a
protective rubber padding to
protect the surface.

8.

Remove the two (2) rear window nozzle
retaining screws (E) and remove the
nozzle.

9.

Pull the nozzle out and cut the hose
using wire cutter/pliers approximately
1.5” in. (40mm) from the nozzle as
shown.

10. Note: The new provided check valve (E)
has a yellow insert which must be
installed towards the nozzle (OUT) hose
end.

11. Install the new provided check valve in
between the existing cut washer fluid
hose in the direction shown.

 NOTICE
If needed, spray a light coat of
lubricant to help insert the
check valve to the washer fluid
hose.

12. Reinstall all removed parts in the reverse
order of removal.

13. Test normal operation of the rear window
washer.
