This fault may cause the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) to illuminate. When diagnosing the condition described

herein, it is necessary to verify the data trouble code associated with the P070300 Fault is 00110D of the

DME. This error occurs by engaging the brakes simultaneously with the front axle-lift, convertible top (or moon roof),

rear spoiler and/or the rear defroster.
Technical Background

This error described here results from a difference in voltage measured across the DME compared to the voltage

measured at the electric brake booster. The basic load on the vehicle’s electrical system together with loading from

active consumers can cause this fault to occur.
Service Information

Should this fault occur, the condition described herein is further verified by determining the measured voltage

difference of the DME and electric brake booster. Specifically, a comparative difference of approximately

0.4 – 0.5 V measured at the two control units can result when activating the convertible top (or moon roof) in

combination with brake engagement. If this error is reproducible by the condition(s) listed above and further verified

with the measured voltage difference described here, then kindly inform the customer about the conditions causing

this diagnostic error. A software fix to address this diagnostic is expected for release in 2020.
