Install the green terminal locks into connector J5.
22.
Install connector J5 into the VPDM and secure it with the captured screw on the front of the VPDM.
Tighten captured screw to 3.7±.75 lbf·ft foot (5±1 N·m). Verify that connector J5 is fully seated by checking
that the green indicator next to captured screw extends from the VPDM housing.

Route the service harness A66-11497-000 along the existing dash harness to the center of dash front-wall
tunnel area to connect circuit 81C and circuit GNDR. See Fig. 16.

Locate the “IGN 1A” splice pack (identifiable by pink wires labeled 81C). See Fig. 17.

Connect circuit 81C to the “IGN 1A” splice pack:
25.1 Remove the splice pack cap. See Fig. 18.
25.2 Remove the terminal lock using a small screw driver or tool #DKIOCHA17002-1. See Fig. 19.
25.3 Insert circuit 81C into an available pin. See Fig. 20.
25.4 Install the terminal lock and splice pack cap.
26.
Locate the “GNDR” splice pack (identifiable by black wires labeled circuit GNDR). See Fig. 21.

Connect the circuit GNDR to the “GNDR” splice pack:
27.1 Remove the splice pack cap and then the terminal lock using a small screw driver or tool
#DKIOCHA17002-1. See Fig. 22.
27.2 Insert circuit GNDR into an available pin. See Fig. 23.
27.3 Install the GNDR terminal lock and splice pack cap.

Route the remaining service harness A66-11497-000 following the existing dash harness to the bulkhead
connector BHB 1B to connect circuit 196. See Fig. 24.
29.
Tilt the hood and remove the BHB 1B chassis harness side (outside) connector by loosening the single
fastener located at the center of the connector. See Fig. 25.
30.
Remove the red terminal lock located within the dash harness side of the BHB 1B connector using
DKIOCHA17002-12 or other suitable tool. See Fig. 26.

NOTE: The tie strap securing the dash harness to the interior front wall may need to be removed in order provide enough harness to gain access to the BHB 1B connector.

Remove the chassis harness side of the BHB 1B connector from cab by releasing the two retaining clips.
See Fig. 27. Then push the connector into the cab. See Fig. 28.
31.1 If the tie strap needs to be removed, remove the left-hand upper bulkhead connector bracket bolt
where the interior front wall tie strap typically connects to the vehicle. See Fig. 29.

Verify circuit 196 is fully seated & locked into BHB 1B connector.

Install the BHB 1B connector into the cab front wall, locking it into place with its two retaining clips. See
Fig. 27.

Install the red terminal lock within the dash harness side of the BHB 1B connector. See Fig. 26.
35.1 If it was removed, install the upper left-hand bulkhead connector bracket bolt and attach the tie strap
to the threads of the bolt. See Fig. 31.

Install the BHB 1B chassis harness side (outside) connector onto the dash harness side and secure it with
the single fastener located at the center of the connector. Tighten to 3.5±.6 lbf·ft (4.8±0.8 N·m).

Secure the service harness A66-11497-000 to the existing dash harness as needed using electrical tape
and/or tie straps.

Install the vehicle covers, referring to Section 60.06, Subject 100 in the New Cascadia Workshop Manual
for instructions as necessary:
38.1 Install the left-hand foot-rest panel. See Fig. 9.
38.2 Install the left-hand tread plate.
38.3 Install the ICU. See Fig. 8.
38.4 Install the ICU fascia panel. See Fig. 7.
38.5 Install the A-panel lower fascia. See Fig. 6.
38.6 Install the auxiliary instrument panel. See Fig. 5.
